{"id":2307872,"date":"2026-03-02T07:05:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-02T07:05:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2307872"},"modified":"2026-03-02T07:05:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-02T07:05:07","slug":"latest-round-of-bpi-music-export-growth-scheme-funding-supports-68-uk-artists-talent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/latest-round-of-bpi-music-export-growth-scheme-funding-supports-68-uk-artists-talent\/","title":{"rendered":"Latest round of BPI Music Export Growth Scheme funding supports 68 UK artists | Talent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>The <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicweek.com\/labels\/read\/bpi-uk-stars-make-global-impact-and-physical-maintains-momentum-but-streaming-growth-slows-in-2025\/093301\"><span>BPI<\/span><\/a><span> has revealed details of the latest (24th) round of the Music Export Growth Scheme (MEGS) funding.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>Developed and administered by the BPI, <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicweek.com\/talent\/read\/music-export-growth-scheme-to-back-58-artists-in-latest-round-of-funding\/091539\"><span>MEGS boosts music exports<\/span><\/a><span> by supporting small-to-medium-sized, independent UK companies as they build the commercial profile of their artists in key markets internationally.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>The announcement follows the BRIT Awards at the weekend \u2013\u00a0a showcase for globally successful UK artists largely from the major label side of the industry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>The partnership between industry and the <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicweek.com\/talent\/read\/government-to-back-high-growth-uk-music-industry-with-up-to-30-million-of-funding\/092172\"><span>UK government<\/span><\/a><span> receives joint funding from the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and the Department for Culture, Media &amp; Sport (DCMS) alongside investment from the UK recorded music industry, which on average contributes 64% of total spend.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>For this \u00a31.4 million round, funding has been distributed to support 68 UK artists from a range of genres and backgrounds as they look to build their international profiles. Artists receiving support in this round include Dry Cleaning, Elles Bailey, Cassyette, <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicweek.com\/live\/read\/the-molotovs-unveil-major-uk-tour-as-debut-album-chases-top-5-result\/093488\"><span>The Molotovs<\/span><\/a><span>, Anaiis, Beth McCarthy and Black Country, New Road \u2013 a full list of recipients is below.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>\u201cAs international touring costs rise and global competition intensifies, MEGS is essential both to British SME music businesses looking to break new talent on the global stage, and to artists aiming to build their audiences internationally,\u201d said a statement.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This scheme moves the dial for indie music by funding global tours and promotion, removing the financial hurdles which would otherwise prevent our best home-grown talent from blossoming into international success stories<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Peter Kyle<\/p>\n<p>&#13;\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>The scheme has previously supported the international careers of more than 450 British artists including Dave, Rina Sawayama, Self Esteem, Jungle, Young Fathers, Kae Tempest and 2025 BRIT Award winners Ezra Collective.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Over the scheme\u2019s 23 previous Rounds, MEGS has invested over \u00a37.9 million in British music, leading to an estimated \u00a373.5 million financial return to the UK economy and a return on investment of nearly \u00a314 for every \u00a31 received from the government.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicweek.com\/interviews\/read\/women-in-music-roll-of-honour-2024-sophie-jones-chief-strategy-officer-bpi\/090627\"><span>Sophie Jones (pictured), BPI chief strategy officer<\/span><\/a><span>, said:\u00a0<\/span>\u201cIn an increasingly competitive global landscape, the Music Export Growth Scheme is a vital springboard for UK artists looking to reach international audiences and build their profiles, and a critical resource for the UK\u2019s SME music businesses and independent sector.
