Noel Gallagher<\/a> has said the documentary charting Oasis<\/a>\u2018 reunion shows \u2013 which he reckons were \u201cbetter than the \u201990s\u201d \u2013 will be \u201castonishing\u201d for fans.<\/p>\n On Saturday night (February 28), Noel picked up the\u00a0BRIT Award<\/a> for Songwriter of the Year, with the awards show hitting his hometown of Manchester for in its near 50 year history<\/a>.<\/p>\n The award was presented by\u00a0Primal Scream<\/a>\u00a0frontman\u00a0Bobby Gillespie<\/a>, with a video package that included a personal message from his beloved Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.<\/p>\n Noel then took to the stage, paying tribute to the city and his bandmates. \u201cYes Manchester,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m gonna start by saying, I\u2019ve gotta thank my brother<\/a>,\u00a0and\u00a0Bonehead<\/a>, Guigsy, Tony McCarroll, Alan White, Gem and\u00a0Andy<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 they brought those songs to life. Without them,\u00a0I\u2019d\u00a0just be a singer-songwriter, and no-one\u00a0gives a shit about singer-songwriters.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking backstage following the victory, Noel reflected on last year\u2019s historic Oasis reunion tour, saying it was \u201cthe most incredible thing that any of us have ever done. To come back after all these years, to get number one albums and all that is pretty mad, but we loved every minute and every second of it.\u201d<\/p>\n
