Hollywood Week continued on\u00a0American Idol<\/a><\/em> with the Monday, March 2, episode. Before getting into the next block of performances, the results from the end of last week\u2019s episode<\/a> were revealed.<\/p>\n

Where we left off, Jake Thistle, Chris Tungseth, Braden Rumfelt<\/a>, and Chloe Lauren were awaiting their fate. (Warning: Spoilers from\u00a0American Idol<\/em> Episode 6 ahead).<\/strong><\/p>\n

All four were chosen to move onto the Golden Room, which means they remain in the competition.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of Hollywood Week, there were 127 contestants remaining in the competition. Each singer performed with the band for the first time in front of the judges, Carrie Underwood<\/a>, Luke Bryan<\/a>, and Lionel Richie<\/a>. After each block of performances, the judges deliberated and decided which singers would be cut, and who would move to the Golden Room to await further instruction.<\/p>\n

By the end of Hollywood Week, only 30 singers remained. Scroll down to see how the second night of performances went and to find out who is moving on.<\/p>\n

Jesse Findling<\/h2>\n

After his impressive audition, Jesse Findling returned to the stage with a rendition of \u201cLove in the Dark\u201d by Adele<\/a>, which he used to watch people sing on\u00a0American Idol<\/em> back in the day and always wanted to perform himself.<\/p>\n

Disney\/Connie Chornuk<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Bryan was so floored by the performance that he jumped on stage afterwards. \u201cThere\u2019s so many things I\u2019m trying to say that I was trying to kick you out of the room because I\u2019m jealous of you,\u201d he admitted. \u201cYour first note, Carrie started drawing hearts everywhere. What a pro dynamic of singing. You are so deserving of this time in your life, right now, to be discovered on this platform and I\u2019m so excited to see your future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jesse was one of the artists selected to move onto the Golden Room after his performance.<\/p>\n

Kyndal Inskeep<\/h2>\n

Kyndal Inskeep<\/a> changed things up a bit from her audition by singing<\/a> a much more lively song: \u201cHuman\u201d by The Killers.<\/p>\n

Disney\/Connie Chornuk<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cYou got such a cool voice, Kyndal,\u201d Underwood gushed. \u201cI love how this time you switched it up and gave us this pop-rock vibe. It was a lot more energetic and you felt comfortable in both spaces. You should be really proud of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Kyndal left the stage, Richie commented that he \u201cloves\u201d her and her voice. \u201cI do, too,\u201d Underwood agreed. \u201cIt\u2019s cool. And she\u2019s comfortable.\u201d Inskeep was emotional because she was so happy with how her performance went, and she was rewarded with a trip to the Golden Room.<\/p>\n

Kutter Bradley<\/h2>\n

For his Hollywood Week performance, Kutter Bradley sang \u201cBoots\u201d by Hardy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Disney\/Connie Chornuk<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Underwood told Kutter, \u201cI feel you got a solid voice. I feel like you got a big range. You were like a lion, packing back and forth, getting ready to bust out of the cage. It was good! It was good.\u201d<\/p>\n

The performance earned Kutter a spot in the Golden Room.<\/p>\n

Julian Kalel<\/h2>\n

Julian Kalel, the contestant who quit<\/a>\u00a0American Idol<\/em> in Season 23 due to mental health struggles, came to Hollywood Week with a rendition of Bonnie Raitt<\/a>\u2018s \u201cI Can\u2019t Make You Love Me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The performance received rave reviews, with Bryan noting, \u201cMy favorite part about that is when you hit your first note, the crowd screams, you smile, and your smile was so big, you almost couldn\u2019t sing the next line. We feel very big things for you in the future and that was the first of many great experiences for you and we\u2019re just glad we get to watch.\u201d<\/p>\n

Julian was chosen to move onto the Golden Room, with Underwood telling him, \u201cYou are still chasing that\u00a0American Idol<\/em> dream!\u201d<\/p>\n

Trew The Star<\/h2>\n

After singing a ballad in his audition, Trew The Star was ready to show his personality with his Hollywood Week performance of \u201cLove and Happiness.\u201d<\/p>\n

Disney\/Connie Chornuk<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cYour name is Trew The Star, and you get a band, and you start getting choreography and swagger,\u201d Bryan noted. \u201cThe song didn\u2019t necessarily show everyone how great and dynamic your voice is, but it showed us how dynamic you are as an artist. Keep being yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n

As the judges deliberated afterwards, Bryan reiterated to Underwood and Richie that he didn\u2019t love the song choice, and Richie agreed, adding, \u201cIt\u2019s the wrong song.\u201d However, Trew still earned a spot in the Golden Room.<\/p>\n

Sheldon Riley<\/h2>\n

Sheldon Riley sang \u201cGood Luck Babe\u201d by Chappell Roan<\/a> for Hollywood Week, and it was admittedly a \u201cchallenging\u201d song for him to sing. His voice cracked during rehearsals, which intensified his nerves ahead of the performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s hard to believe that you spent most of your career behind a mask,\u201d Richie raved. \u201cNow you are revealing, not only your face, but your amazing talent and your voice. Amazing talent. This could be your home.\u201d He was rewarded with a spot in the Golden Room.<\/p>\n

Jayson Arendt<\/h2>\n

Jayson Arendt, a player in the entertainment baseball league, was warned to make sure he takes himself seriously in the competition after making it through the Auditions. For Hollywood Week, he sang \u201cAustin\u201d by Blake Shelton<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Disney\/Connie Chornuk<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cOn those choruses, make sure you enunciate through them on those big notes,\u201d Bryan critiqued, with Underwood adding, \u201cThe devil\u2019s in the details.\u201d Unfortunately, the journey ended there for Jayson, who was eliminated.<\/p>\n

Julianne Post<\/h2>\n

Julianne Post performed an original song called \u201cDie While I\u2019m Dancing\u201d during Hollywood Week.<\/p>\n

Singing an original in this portion of the competition is a risk, and it didn\u2019t pay off for Julianne, who was also sent home.<\/p>\n

Mor Ilderton<\/h2>\n

Mor Ilderton also decided to take the risk, though, and performed his original song \u201cHow to Love You,\u201d wanting to show off that he\u2019s a songwriter at heart.<\/p>\n

Even before she spoke, Underwood knew her response would get a reaction from the crowd. \u201cThey\u2019re going to boo me,\u201d she told Bryan. She then addressed Mor, telling the hopeful, \u201cIn a room like this, for you to bring an original song with that incredible band sitting behind you twiddling their thumbs, I feel like it was just a missed opportunity, and I love your voice, I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, she concluded by adding, \u201cI loved being in an intimate room with you like that and listening to you tell your story. I feel like you took a risk here and \u2026 it paid off.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richie was also onboard. \u201cThat\u2019s what we want. Give me more of that,\u201d he said. Mor found out that his journey will continue with a spot in the Golden Room.<\/p>\n

Mary Jo Young<\/h2>\n

Mary Jo Young, a returnee from Season 19, stole the show when she performed \u201cDrivers License\u201d by Olivia Rodrigo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re so glad to have you back in our presence and you are singing your butt off,\u201d Bryan assured her. \u201cCongratulations.\u201d Mary Jo learned she is in consideration for the Top 30 by moving onto the Golden Room.<\/p>\n

Ruby Rae<\/h2>\n

Ruby Rae came to Hollywood Week with a performance of Olivia Dean\u2019s \u201cTime\u201d and rocked out onstage.<\/p>\n

Bryan gushed, \u201cYou are really, really one of our dynamic singers in this competition. Thank you.\u201d Ruby made it into the Golden Room for a shot to stay in the competition.<\/p>\n

Rae<\/h2>\n

Rae struggled a bit during rehearsals and was nervous taking the stage for her rendition of \u201cStone Cold\u201d by Demi Lovato<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After the judges gave Rae a standing ovation, Richie told her, \u201cThat was just exceptional. If you were thinking about winning, just keep doing that. Incredible.\u201d Unsurprisingly, Rae earned a spot in the Golden Room.<\/p>\n

Jayson Garner<\/h2>\n

Jayson Garner hit the stage with his guitar and sang \u201cAll My Hope\u201d by Crowder.<\/p>\n

Underwood called him the \u201call-American boy,\u201d and said he sang his heart out, but noted that he\u2019d have to wait to find out if that was enough. It ended up being just enough, as Jayson was selected to move on.<\/p>\n

Genevieve Heyward<\/h2>\n

The judges urged Genevieve Heyward to \u201cpush\u201d herself a little more after Auditions. She attempted to do just that with a performance of \u201cThe Story\u201d by Brandi Carlile<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Disney\/Connie Chornuk<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Underwood jumped out of her seat to give Genevieve a standing ovation, and Bryan and Richie followed. \u201cYou have this energy around you where you just feel like you want to be on stage owning the moment,\u201d Bryan said. \u201cYou should be very, very happy. Good job.\u201d Genevieve moved into the Golden Room after that performance.<\/p>\n

Jackie Bluebird<\/h2>\n

Jackie Bluebird was plucked off the Belmont University quad by Ryan Seacrest<\/a> ahead of Auditions, and came to Hollywood Week with a performance of \u201cYou Oughta Know\u201d by Alanis Morissette<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWay to own your moment,\u201d Bryan said. \u201cJust remember, make sure you land the vocals all the way, but you should be very, very proud. Good job.\u201d Unfortunately, it wasn\u2019t quite enough, and the judges eliminated Jackie.<\/p>\n

Bella Emry<\/h2>\n

Another Auditions standout, Bella Emry, hit the stage to perform \u201cThe Joke\u201d by Brandi Carlile during Hollywood Week.<\/p>\n

Bryan raved over the performance, telling Bella, \u201cI\u2019m seeing authenticity, I\u2019m seeing style, I\u2019m seeing uniqueness, and that\u2019s what it takes to do well in this competition.\u201d Richie, meanwhile, noted, \u201cThat was solid,\u201d and Bella made it to the Golden Room.<\/p>\n

Daniel Stallworth<\/h2>\n

For his Hollywood Week performance, Daniel Stallworth sang \u201cStand By Me\u201d and got a standing ovation from all three judges.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo take a song that we\u2019ve heard so many times and to just take it to the rafters of this place, you are a truly special person,\u201d Bryan promised. Daniel learned that he would be moving into the Golden Room.<\/p>\n

Brooks<\/h2>\n

Hollywood Week was Brooks\u2019 first time performing on a stage in front of people besides family and friends. He found music after an injury kept him from playing soccer in high school.<\/p>\n

Brooks sang \u201cDrowning\u201d by Sam Barber. \u201cA voice that will become so recognizable in years to come,\u201d Bryan confirmed. \u201cTo be some of the first ears to ever hear it is pretty special. When you have this unique voice, paired with these songs that are going to happen in your life, it\u2019s going to be really, really special.\u201d<\/p>\n

That was enough to earn Brooks his spot in the Golden Room with a shot to make the Top 30.<\/p>\n

Who made the Top 30 on\u00a0American Idol<\/em> Season 24?<\/h2>\n

After all of the Hollywood Week performances, there were 60 contestants in the Golden Room, and the judges had to review the performances to pare the group down to just 30. To help make their decisions, some of the contestants were paired up for sing-offs.<\/p>\n

The 28 singers who automatically made the Top 30 were: Makiyah, Jordan McCullough, Lucas Leon, Bella Emry, Madison Moon, Keyla Richardson, Braden Rumfelt, Chris Tungseth, Jake Thistle, Philmon Lee, Tianna Roberts, Brooks, Daniel Stallworth, Kutter Bradley, Bryant Thomas, Sheldon Riley, Jesse Findling, Julian Kalel, Brianna Yancey, Kiera Howell, Kyndal Inskeep, Hannah Harper, Ruby Rae, Jacquie Lee, Brenna Brigman, Rae, Genevieve Heyward, and Abayomi.<\/p>\n

Among the eliminated contestants were: Mor Ilderton, Jakob Stobaugh, Julia Sienna, Trace Casanova, Roelle, and Trew The Star.<\/p>\n

Then, there were two sing-offs to determine the final two artists in the Top 30. Jayson Garner and Michael Garner went head-to-head, as did Mary Jo Young and Chloe Lauren. Jayson sang \u201cThat\u2019s All Right\u201d by Elvis Presley<\/a> and Michael performed \u201cDrift Away\u201d by Dobie Gray.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to stress to you guys both, you are both very talented young men. We put you in a tough situation to duke it out like this,\u201d Bryan revealed. The judges discussed that Jayson was the \u201cobvious showman,\u201d but their hearts were set on Michael, and Michael was the one selected to move on.<\/p>\n

Mary Jo returned to the stage with an a cappella rendition of\u00a0 Bon Iver\u2019s \u201cSkinny Love,\u201d while Chloe performed \u201cYou Stole the Show\u201d by Sienna Spiro. \u201cYou both just proved why you\u2019re here and why you made it this far,\u201d Underwood assured the ladies. Ultimately, it was Chloe who was chosen for the Top 30.<\/p>\n
