Radiohead<\/a> is calling out President Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s administration after Immigration and Customs Enforcement<\/a> used a version of a song the band said \u201cmeans a lot\u201d to them and their fans. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n The message by ICE, posted Feb. 18 and pinned to the top of its X feed, decried \u201ccriminal illegal alien violence\u201d as it showed images of what it described as victims. The video was set to a choral version of \u201cLet Down<\/a>,\u201d from the band\u2019s landmark 1997 album \u201cOK Computer.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThis is who we fight for,\u201d the agency wrote. \u201cThis is our why.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Radiohead made it clear that the song was used without permission. The band released a statement cited by Variety<\/a> and a number of other outlets:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWe demand that the amateurs in control of the ICE social media account take it down. It ain\u2019t funny, this song means a lot to us and other people, and you don\u2019t get to appropriate it without a fight. The band\u2019s PR agency slammed ICE for using the song in a \u201cpropaganda\u201d video, NBC News reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n ICE, in its post, claimed that it was working for \u201cAmerican citizens raped and murdered by those who have no right to be in our country.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n However, CBS News reported last month<\/a> that 40% of those arrested by ICE during Trump\u2019s first year had no criminal record, while 14% faced accusations of or had convictions for violent offenses. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Separately, Reuters found<\/a> that at least 30 people detained by the agency last year died while in custody, the highest level in decades.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n In addition, dozens of U.S. citizens<\/a> have been detained, according to ProPublica.
