Tom Hanks<\/a>‘ son is getting the immersive Cast Away<\/a> <\/em>experience\u2026 minus the volleyball.<\/p>\n Chet Hanks, who is best known for declaring “White Boy Summer”<\/a> back in 2021, recently revealed his unfortunate predicament to the world: he is stuck in Colombia after leaving his U.S. passport at home.<\/p>\n The 35-year-old detailed the situation in a Friday Instagram video<\/a>, explaining that he was originally visiting Puerto Rico for a birthday party when he spontaneously decided to drop in on a friend just a few hours away in Medell\u00edn, Colombia. But Hanks, who has dual citizenship after his parents were naturalized in Greece in 2020<\/a>, said he only brought his Greek passport because his U.S. passport was nearly expired.<\/p>\n “Sometimes they don\u2019t let you in the country even if it hasn\u2019t expired [because] it\u2019s about to expire,\u201d Chet said of his reasoning.<\/p>\n Upon arriving at the airport for his flight back to the U.S., Hanks said he was told at the gate that he wouldn’t be able to enter with a foreign passport, despite being a U.S. citizen.<\/p>\n
