Omid Scobie’s new book’s rankings have taken a nosedive (Image: Instagram, PA)<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n Omid Scobie<\/a>, who has long been dubbed Meghan Markle<\/a>\u2019s ‘mouthpiece’ due to his favourable coverage<\/a> of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, has received a major blow after his new book took a nosedive in rankings. Royal Spin, co-written by Mr Scobie and US young adult fiction author Robin Benway, is the journalist\u2019s third royal book<\/a> overall and first attempt at fiction.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n It hit the shelves last month<\/a> in the UK and centres on an American woman who quits her job at the White House for one at Buckingham Palace. The book was slammed by critics, with one review in the Telegraph calling it so poorly written that artificial intelligence (AI) would \u201cdisown it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Now, it appears the book failed to spark interest and sales as its latest rankings on Amazon are revealed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n READ MORE:<\/strong> WHO chief sets record straight on Prince Harry and Meghan’s controversial tour <\/a><\/p>\n READ MORE:<\/strong> Sarah Ferguson’s \u2018obsession\u2019 blasted as insider lays bare extravagant demands <\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n In the UK, the book\u2019s hardcover version ranked 44,059th in Books, 8,667 in Contemporary Romance, 3,486th in Romantic Comedy and 2,330th in Billionaires & Millionaires Romance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The paperback version showed no rankings, while the Kindle one ranked 34,969th in Kindle Store, 6,965th in Teen & Young Adult, 2,663rd in Contemporary Romance Fiction and 1,111th in Teen & Young Adult eBooks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n In the US, the new book ranked even lower, with the hardcover version ranking 63,673rd in Books, 10,106th in Contemporary Romance, 2,161st in Women’s Domestic Life Fiction and 749th in Romantic Comedy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The paperback version ranked 645,402nd in Books overall, while the Kindle version came 15,144th.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Royal fans noticed the not-so-favourable rankings and took to social media to express their views.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n One user wrote on Reddit<\/a>: \u201cThis is not a good thing for Omid, right?
