Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> on Monday pointed out a bitter irony of President Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s first move after launching military strikes on Iran<\/a> over the weekend.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cTrump has been now, after the bombing, calling for the Iranian people to rise up to topple the regime, which is the opposite of what he said he would do,\u201d Kimmel pointed out. \u201cHe usually only calls for the overthrow of a government when he loses an election.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Kimmel also showed clips of Trump in past years predicting that then-President Barack Obama<\/a> would go to war with Iran to help his sagging poll numbers ahead of an election. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Trump in one 2011 clip said a war with Iran would be a sign of a president who has \u201cabsolutely no ability to negotiate\u201d and is \u201cweak\u201d and \u201cineffective.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cWell, look at that,\u201d Kimmel said, now that those words are coming back to haunt Trump. \u201cAnother prediction he got right. Nostra-Dumbass has done it again!\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kimmel suggested there\u2019s another reason Trump struck Iran.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWhen your best friend was a pedophile and you\u2019re losing bigly in the swing states with an election coming up, what do you do?\u201d Kimmel asked. \u201cI\u2019ll tell you what you do: You fire the weapons of mass distraction.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Trump\u2019s assault on Iran comes as he faces new questions over his relationship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>, who was once a close friend. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
