Poison Ruin<\/a> have released the title track as the second single from their upcoming album, H<\/em>ymn from the Hills<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Hymn from the Hills\u2019 is about living on the outside, by force or by choice, and what is lost and gained in the process,\u201d stated guitarist Mac Kennedy of the track.<\/p>\n Get Poison Ruin Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cHymn from the Hills\u201d continues Poison Ruin\u2019s metallic fantasy-punk hybrid sound. It features a driving twin-guitar attack reminiscent of traditional heavy metal in the vein of Thin Lizzy married to vocals straight out of the Philly punk gutters, offering a keen union of high and low.<\/p>\n Related Video<\/p>\n Where Poison Ruin\u2019s earliest material showcased a somewhat marked separation of the dungeon synth and metal-punk songwriting, this single showcases their development toward a more fully syncretic style. It joins debut single \u201cEidolon\u201d<\/a> in showcasing a slight shift toward material rooted in \u201970s heavy and fantasy rock, at times feeling like a punk take on Uriah Heap or the frillier its of a group like Rainbow.<\/p>\n Hymn from the Hills\u00a0<\/em>will be out April 3rd via Relapse Records.
