Taking to social media, Sapthami shared a strongly worded statement highlighting a \u201crecurring issue\u201d faced by women in the film industry. She wrote, \u201cAs women in the film industry, we stand together in addressing a recurring issue.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The actor pointed out that videos and photographs of female celebrities are often captured from inappropriate angles. \u201cRepeatedly, videos and photographs of female actors at public events are shot and circulated from inappropriate angles, with unnecessary zooms that focus on our bodies rather than our work,\u201d the statement read.<\/span><\/p>\n

Calling out the practice, Sapthami described such behaviour as \u201cdisrespectful and unacceptable.\u201d She emphasized that actors attend public events to represent their craft and cinema, not to be subjected to invasive camera work.<\/span><\/p>\n
