It also marks the first taste of their upcoming album, of which the release date and title are yet to be announced.<\/p>\n<p>Built upon a high-octane, heavy guitar riff, the song sees frontman Caleb Shomo celebrate his freedom, singing: \u201c<em>Running to the light so you can see\/Every single fucked up of piece of me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Speaking about \u2018Free\u2019, Shomo explained it\u2019s \u201cthe start of the next chapter of my music and my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued: \u201cThe emotional roller coaster that is living can be very complicated at times. In one day, you can equally experience pure fear and pure joy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis song shows a glimpse of what is to come from the next Beartooth album, which is the most honest depiction of my soul I will most likely ever make.\u201d Check it out below.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Beartooth - Free (Official Music Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7VzCc7EWDeU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Since the music video\u2019s release, however, fans have noticed that Shomo has deleted his personal Instagram account, with some speculating it may be due to a slew of homophobic comments.<\/p>\n<p>Per metal music publication<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theprp.com\/2026\/03\/02\/news\/beartooths-caleb-shomo-deletes-his-instagram-amid-free-controversy-attilas-chris-fronzak-cracks-a-divisive-joke\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>\u00a0PRP<\/em><\/a>, the singer was met with hateful comments after debuting a new look in the video, where he sports a bejewelled choker and crop top, as well as eye makeup.<\/p>\n<p>One such comment came from Attila\u2019s Chris Fronzak, who wrote that the singer had \u201cdropped the s from his name\u201d, before saying that the music industry is \u201cbrainwashed beyond belief\u201d and alleging that artists are told they \u201cwouldn\u2019t get big because they don\u2019t have a trans person or female in the band.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fronzak has since apologised, saying he meant the remark \u201cas a joke\u201d, adding: \u201cbut it didn\u2019t come across that way. I don\u2019t know what he\u2019s going through at the moment, but I wish him the best. The world has too much hate rn &amp; I don\u2019t want to add any fuel to that fire\u2026 You never know what someone is going through. At the end of the day, they care about the music and supporting the people involved.
