After all, the long-running anchor of CBS Mornings\u00a0confirmed she will remain with the talk show despite her contract\u00a0expiring in May.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Rumors of my demise were inaccurate and greatly exaggerated,\u201d\u00a0she said in a statement to Variety March 4<\/a>, \u00a0referring to the famous quote attributed to Mark Twain<\/strong>. “CBS News is my longtime home, and I am committed to our mission. I\u2019m excited about continuing at CBS Mornings.\u00a0As always, I\u2019m open to new adventures here and ready to go.\u201d<\/p>\n

She concluded, “It took a minute, but we got there. \u00a0And now that we are here, I am all in.\u201d<\/p>\n

The news comes months after CBS denied rumors<\/a> that Gayle would be stepping away from the news program\u2014which she hosts with Tony Dokoupil<\/strong>\u00a0and Nate Burleson<\/strong>\u2014and taking on a new role within the corporation this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThere have been no discussions with Gayle about her contract that runs through May 2026,” a CBS News spokesperson said in a statement shared with People<\/a>\u00a0on Oct. 30. “She\u2019s a truly valued part of CBS and we look forward to engaging with her about the future.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
