The Ontario Music Investment Fund\u2019s Live Music stream is designed to help organizations that produce or promote shows featuring Canadian artists \u2014 and one of its latest recipients is the Capitol Centre. Provincial officials say a new $20,000 investment will support expanded concert and festival offerings in North Bay<\/p>\n

North Bay\u2019s signature summer street party is set to get bigger.<\/p>\n

The Capitol Centre says the Bay Block Party will expand into a two-day festival on Aug. 21 and 22, supported by\u00a0$20,000\u00a0from the province through the\u00a0Ontario Creates Ontario Music Investment Fund\u00a0(OMIF) Live Music stream.<\/p>\n

\u201cBay Block Party remains a signature highlight of the summer season, and we are thrilled to see it expand into a two\u2011day festival on August 21 and 22,” says Katina Connolly, executive director of the Capitol Centre.<\/p>\n

“With support from the Ontario Music Investment Fund, this year\u2019s event will feature additional programming throughout the downtown on Friday evening, complementing the outstanding local talent showcased across two stages on Saturday. The festival continues to be free and open to all, and we look forward to welcoming the community for an unforgettable weekend of music and celebration.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cLast year we had a record-breaking turnout,\u201d enthused Hannah McCallum, Project Coordinator with the Capitol Centre. \u201cThe community floods downtown and brings so much love for all of the artists, musicians, and the businesses that become a part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt really is great to see the community centre come together, and we\u2019re excited for that again this year,\u201d McCallum added.<\/p>\n

MPP Vic Fedeli said in a release,\u00a0\u201cThis support will help the Capitol Centre continue to create more opportunities for emerging artists to showcase their talent, strengthening our local economy and drawing more visitors to Nipissing.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Live Music stream is designed to support businesses and organizations that produce or promote live music events featuring Canadian artists.<\/p>\n

The popular downtown event returns on August 22 with music, events, and fun for all ages. The Bay Block Party\u00a0has events for all-ages in downtown North Bay.<\/p>\n

With active participation from local musicians, breweries, food vendors, artisans, and family-friendly activities, Bay Block Party fosters a vibrant and safe downtown atmosphere, celebrates local businesses, and supports the community.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
