A \u201cbetrayed\u201d Kyle Sandilands was reportedly left out of the loop when Jackie O Henderson informed the network of her intentions to quit their radio show.<\/p>\n
ARN Media, the owners of KIIS FM, announced Henderson\u2019s resignation on Tuesday following a tense, seven-minute on-air clash with Sandilands over astrology.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, a source close to Sandilands told news.com.au that while the shock jock remains upbeat, he feels very \u201cbetrayed\u201d by his long-term co-host.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s reported Sandilands didn\u2019t hear the new directly from Henderson and only found out she would be leaving the show hours before ARN released its statement.<\/p>\n
The source also told the outlet that after the explosive February 20 broadcast ended, the duo exchanged text messages, in which Henderson made it known she felt crushed by the argument.<\/p>\n
Sandilands reportedly texted Henderson to apologise, saying he was \u201csorry for anything I said that didn\u2019t go down well\u201d, and added that he \u201cloved\u201d and \u201ccared\u201d for her.<\/p>\n
The source claimed Henderson replied, telling Sandilands he had \u201ccrossed a line\u201d and the comments he made were \u201cwrong and low\u201d.<\/p>\n
She then told Sandilands she would be taking a break from the show.<\/p>\n
During the on-air fight that ended a 25-year broadcast partnership, Sandilands accused Henderson of being unfit to work because she had become so obsessed with astrology.<\/p>\n
\u201cYour fixation on this has made you almost unworkable,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Henderson argued he wasn\u2019t being \u201cfair,\u201d but Sandilands went on to call her \u201coff with the fairies\u201d.<\/p>\n
Crying, Henderson said, was \u201ctotally offended\u201d by his comments and argued that she would never critique him like that.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019ve had your head looking into the stars; it is too much, and it is affecting everything else. Every segment and every time you\u2019ve spoken, you don\u2019t know what is going on,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Henderson was expected to resume her place on KIIS FM after taking time off to \u201cgather her thoughts\u201d but ARN confirmed on Tuesday that she gave notice to the network that she \u201ccannot continue to work with Mr Kyle Sandilands\u201d.<\/p>\n
Sandilands is now on a 14-day suspension after ARN determined his conduct toward Henderson during the February 20 broadcast constituted \u201can act of misconduct\u201d.<\/p>\n
He has been told he must \u201cremedy\u201d the situation before he can return to the airwaves, but ARN has not publicly explained what that process would involve.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
