He\u2019s been\u00a0appointed as chief music officer at music-tech firm Moises<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The company, which makes AI-powered tools for musicians, said that Puth will \u201ccollaborate on artist-focused features, help shape creative direction, and ensure the platform continues to reflect how musicians actually work\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Moises, which has signed up more than 70 million users so far, has also launched\u00a0a remix contest based on Puth\u2019s latest single \u2018Beat Yourself Up\u2019<\/a>, making the stems available within its app for people to work with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n Puth praised the app and said he has been using it \u201cin my own creative process for years\u201d \u2013 so he does appear to have some prior engagement with Moises, rather than this being simply an endorsement or equity-driven promotional partnership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He joins the annals of musicians featuring in appointment announcements, running back to the days of\u00a0Alicia Keys as Blackberry\u2019s global creative director<\/a>\u00a0(2013);\u00a0Lady Gaga as Polaroid\u2019s creative director<\/a>\u00a0(2010) and\u00a0Will I Am as director of creative innovation at Intel<\/a>\u00a0(2011).<\/p>\n\n\n\n More recently, we\u2019ve seen John Legend take not one but two chief music officer roles \u2013\u00a0at\u00a0meditation service Headspace<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0NFTs startup Our Happy Company<\/a>.
