The best-selling author now has the rights to ACOTAR.<\/p>\n

She told Alex Cooper she wants to be in full creative control of the show, including the music.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Wondering when A Court of Thorns and Roses will FINALLY come to a TV screen near you? Sarah J. Maas gave everyone an much-needed update during her appearance on Call Her Daddy\u2014and it sounds like she\u2019s open to getting things started buuuut nothing\u2019s in the works as of this moments.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I have the rights back to everything now,\u201d she said, going on to add \u201cRight now my focus is on books and it’s been a little while since you guys have had something, so I’m focusing on that, but I look at any TV movie adaptation as kind of like another facet of the worlds that I’ve created and it’s something that I want to be in charge of, I want to be figuring out, like I want to be learning everything that I can.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sarah went on to explain that \u201cI want to be a part of that and I want to see everything adapted the way I envision it and the way I know fans want it and I don’t ever want to hear like, \u2018Oh, we need to change this to appeal to XYZ\u2019s demographic.\u2019 I’m like, \u2018No, that’s not how you make art. That’s not how I create my stories.\u2019 So when I do it, it’s gonna be me and I will dedicate everything that I have to making it right, but I’ll be in there, you know, looking at all the design, but also like, \u2018What does it sound like?\u2019 ’cause music plays such a big part, so I’m not just gonna, like, the music is gonna have to be like a huge project.\u201d<\/p>\n

TLDR: the ACOTAR series is TBD. But the good news? Two new books are coming out way!<\/p>\n
