This classic romance ballad features lavish piano and movie soundtrack strings while also including mariachi horns and Latin-pop influences. While the song explores themes similar to that of \u201cGrenade,\u201d it brings to light new styles and genres to help portray the feelings of the unrequited, passionate love for which Mars is famous.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Outside of the leading tracks, the rest of the album brings different energy to every song. The track \u201cOn My Soul\u201d combines Latin, soul and disco while the slow, romantic \u201cDance With Me\u201d uses guitar and vocal harmonies to bring the energy back down.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While fans are less likely to belt \u201cDance With Me,\u201d the intimate, romantic feeling will cement the song\u2019s legacy next to pop slow dance songs like Ed Sheeran\u2019s \u201cThinking Out Loud\u201d and Eric Clapton\u2019s \u201cWonderful Tonight.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ultimately, \u201cThe Romantic\u201d doesn\u2019t attempt to rebrand Bruno Mars. Instead, it turns against the industry\u2019s constant demand for reformation and leans into what Mars is known for: romance, funk grooves and emotionally charged ballads.
