Christina Applegate<\/a> recently appeared on \u201cThe View<\/a>\u201d to promote her new memoir, \u201cYou With the Sad Eyes,\u201d and she discussed how Will Ferrell<\/a> and Adam McKay<\/a> gave parts of their \u201cAnchorman<\/a>\u201d salaries to her when the studio\u2019s original offer for her to play Veronica Corningstone came in well below her male co-stars.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen they came in with the initial offer, it was, you know, a little offensive,\u201d Applegate noted. \u201cAnd I said I can\u2019t. I know my worth, and I can\u2019t do that. They wanted me bad enough, and they said, \u2018Well, we\u2019re gonna chip in.\u2019 Thank God they did because it was one of the best experiences of my entire life.\u201d<\/p>\n
