Rymer<\/a> believes a call to the rebuilding <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/mlb\/washington-nationals\">Washington Nationals<\/a> for CJ Abrams could help them achieve that.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With Bobby Witt Jr. at shortstop and Maikel Garc\u00eda\u00a0at third base, Kansas City presumably likes Abrams as a second base candidate,&#8221; wrote Rymer. &#8220;That could be a better spot for him defensively, as his baseline as a 20\/20 threat would make him a nice offensive addition as well.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Still just 25, Abrams has three straight seasons with 18-20 home runs and an OPS of .712 or higher. As a speed threat on the bases, he&#8217;s a <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/mlb\/washington-nationals\/news\/nationals-cj-abrams-trade-smoke-very-real\/8ed119506f511b3ea3299e80\">candidate to become one of baseball&#8217;s next 30-30 guys<\/a>, something the Royals would certainly welcome.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Royals send LHP Noah Cameron, No. 2 prospect to Nationals in trade idea\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>In this trade idea, the Royals let go of left-handed starting pitcher Noah Cameron and their <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/milb\/prospects\/royals\/blake-mitchell-805810\">No. 2-ranked prospect<\/a> on MLB Pipeline, catcher Blake Mitchell.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For their parts, Cameron is part of a rotation surplus, and Mitchell is looking up at Salvador Perez and Carter Jensen on the Royals&#8217; depth chart,&#8221; wrote Rymer. &#8220;He deserves a clearer way forward in another organization.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cameron impressed in his first taste of big league action last season, making history as the second rookie pitcher to allow <a target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/fannation\/mlb\/fastball\/history\/kansas-city-royals-young-lefty-noah-cameron-continues-to-make-historic-contributions-early-in-career\">one run or fewer<\/a> in each of his first five starts.
