The singer\u2019s new album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally., <\/i>just dropped \u2013 and fans digging through the lyrics quickly noticed a clever nod to legendary duo Simon & Garfunkel.<\/p>\n
On the track Dance No More<\/i>, Styles sings about ditching the pressure of always performing and simply living in the moment with everyone else on the dance floor.<\/p>\n
\u201cMove it side to side with your hands up high \/ Keep your customer satisfied and live your life \/ \u2018DJs don\u2019t dance no more\u2019 they said \/<\/p>\n
We wanna dance with all our friends.\u201d<\/p>\n
That \u201ccustomer satisfied\u201d line? Not random.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Zane Lowe, Styles confirmed the lyric is a subtle throwback.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is a Simon & Garfunkel reference. Keep your customer satisfied,\u201d he said, pointing to the duo\u2019s 1970 track Keep the Customer Satisfied<\/i>.<\/p>\n
But the song\u2019s inspiration actually came from a much more personal moment \u2013 one that happened far from the stage.<\/p>\n
\u201cI remember going out, kind of the first time in Berlin and like standing in the middle of the dance floor and feeling so unbelievably free and like safe that I kind of just had my hands in the air and my eyes closed and I just felt these tears streaming down my face,\u201d Styles shared.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd it was this moment of like, I feel so alive right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
