Daryl Hannah doesn’t care how much audiences love “Love Story.”<\/a><\/p>\n In a new op-ed, published by the New York Times Friday<\/a>, March 6, Hannah panned the show, which dramatized the romance and death of John F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a> and his wife, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy<\/a>. The FX show,<\/a> from controversial producer Ryan Murphy, has captivated audiences but ruffled the feathers of some in the Kennedy clan<\/a> who claim it is not only false, but a gross glamorization of a personal tragedy.<\/p>\n On Friday, Hannah, a onetime romantic partner of JFK Jr., counted herself among the critics, blasting a character named after her in the show<\/a>, and deriding the choice to make it at all as “tragedy-exploiting.”<\/p>\n “The choice to portray her as irritating, self-absorbed, whiny and inappropriate was no accident,” Hannah, 65, wrote of her character in the show. “Storytelling requires tension. I have never used cocaine in my life or hosted cocaine-fueled parties. I have never pressured anyone into marriage. I have never desecrated any family heirloom or intruded upon anyone’s private memorial. I have never planted any story in the press. I never compared Jacqueline Onassis’ death to a dog’s. It’s appalling to me that I even have to defend myself against a television show,” she wrote. “These are not creative embellishments of personality.
