North West<\/a> has previewed some new production she\u2019s been working on, and it samples her father\u2019s music.<\/p>\n During a recent stream, North West shared a preview of what she\u2019s been working on, and fans quickly picked up that she sampled the artist formerly known as Kanye West\u2019s<\/a> \u201cColdest Winter,\u201d a song that appeared on Ye\u2019s 2008 album 808s & Heartbreak<\/em>. The original track, which interpolates Tears for Fears\u2019<\/a> \u201cMemories Fade,\u201d is a tribute to Ye\u2019s late mother, Donda West<\/a>.<\/p>\n During the stream, North was seen in the studio playing back the beat, which features the core melody of \u201cColdest Winter\u201d and a snippet of vocals from her father.<\/p>\n The stream comes not long after North reportedly signed a record deal with Gamma. The 12-year-old has already indicated that she\u2019s got a keen interest in music, having released her debut self-produced single<\/a>, \u201cPiercing On My Hand,\u201d just last month. She\u2019s also previously appeared on three tracks alongside her father, rapped in Japanese on FKA Twigs\u2019<\/a> \u201cChildlike Things,\u201d and produced a song for British rapper Skaiwater.<\/p>\n The record label she\u2019s reportedly signed to is owned by former Apple executive Larry Jackson. The company also partnered with her father to release his forthcoming 12th studio album, Bully<\/em><\/a>. Launched in 2023, Gamma bills itself as a “modern media and technology enterprise” and works closely with artists including Usher<\/a>, Sexyy Red<\/a>, Mariah Carey<\/a>, rising R&B star JayDon<\/a>, and Snoop Dogg<\/a>.<\/p>\n
