St. Patrick’s Day may be on Tuesday, March 17, but the celebrations are going to be month-long across the mid-Hudson Valley.<\/p>\n\n

From stopping by your local Irish pub to bolting in a themed 5K, take the opportunity to celebrate the holiday how you see fit. Area residents will have chances to revel in live Irish music and dance performances too or stop by the Dutchess County Pub claiming to have the largest selection of Irish whiskey in the county.<\/p>\n

Check out what’s happening in the region below, including Dutchess, Ulster and Orange counties to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day 2026.<\/p>\n

10 Irish pubs, breweries with St. Patrick’s Day events, specials<\/h2>\n

St. Patrick’s themed annual 5K runs, fun runs and walks<\/h2>\n

Fourth annual Clover Classic 5K:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The fourth annual Clover Classic 5K in Highland goes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 14.<\/p>\n

The race, which begins and ends at the Tony Williams Park connection to the Hudson Valley Rail Trail, located at South Riverside Road, is presented by Highland Youth Football and Cheer.<\/p>\n

Festivities including food, fun, music and games, according to the registration website<\/a>, will be available too.<\/p>\n

Registration for this year’s Clover Classic can be done online at\u00a0runsignup.com<\/a>, but onsite signups will also be available. $30 for adults 21 and over or $20 for individuals under 21.<\/p>\n\n

Overflow parking will be at the Town of Lloyd Highway Department, located at 430 New Paltz Road in Highland.<\/p>\n

Eastern Dutchess Road Runners Club St. Patrick’s 5K Run or Walk:<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Saturday, March 14, the Eastern Dutchess Road Runners Club is hosting their\u00a0fifth annual St. Patrick’s 5K Run or Walk<\/a>. This 5K starts at 9 a.m., rain or shine, at 46 Ketcham Park in Dover Plains. Packet pickup will be available beginning at 8 a.m. on race day.<\/p>\n

The race starts and ends at J.H. Ketcham Memorial Park, with the course continuing on town roads and having a few small rolling hills, according to the Eastern Dutchess Road Runners Club website.<\/p>\n\n

Following the race at 10 a.m., top overall awards men, women and non-binary runners will be presented, as well as awards for first, second and third place in each age group. Refreshments will be provided after the race, including Shamrock Shakes.<\/p>\n\n

Registration for the race is $25 for nonmembers and $20 for members online, and registration on the day of the race is $30, cash only. All proceeds and donations from the race will be donated to Lions Club Inc. of Dover.<\/p>\n

Wappingers Falls Parade<\/strong> Shamrock Fun Run or Walk:<\/strong><\/p>\n

This fun run or walk<\/a> is described as a spirited dash prior to the Wappinger’s 31st annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 7.<\/p>\n

This rain-or-shine, untimed, 1.5-mile run will cover the parade route, ending at Mesier Park, and festive St. Patrick’s Day attire is highly encouraged.<\/p>\n

As this is a point-to-point course \u2014 a start and finish in two different spots \u2014 it is not great for young children. The recommended parking and meeting spot is at Fleet Feet at The Shoppes at South Hills, located at 1895 South Road in Poughkeepsie at 12:15 p.m. The group will walk just under a mile to the parade starting point on Route 9D in the Village of Wappingers. Transportation will not be provided from the finish point in Mesier Park back to Fleet Feet.<\/p>\n\n

Another suggestion, according to the registration website<\/a>, is to park at Mesier Park and walk, or get a ride, to the start point of the run.<\/p>\n\n

If you miss the Wappingers preparade run, another Fleet Feet Poughkeepsie Shamrock Fun Run or Walk<\/a> will be held on Sunday, March 15.<\/p>\n

Listen to Irish music, see dancing or have a feast<\/h2>\n

Cherish The Ladies at Town Crier Cafe in Beacon on March 20:<\/strong> This Grammy-nominated Irish American group, who formed in 1985, is coming to Dutchess County. Cherish The Ladies, according to their website<\/a>, blends traditional Irish music, song and dance, with National Endowment for the Arts National Heritage Award Winner and flute and whistle player, Joanie Madden, at the helm. Tickets to see their performance, located at the mid-Hudson Valley venue that has been around for over 50 years now, are $50 in advance or $55 at the door; show and dinner reservations are still available, but are going quickly. Celtic Angels Ireland 2026 National Tour at the Bardavon 1869 Opera House in Poughkeepsie on March 20:<\/strong> Visit the Bardavon for a night of singing, music and Irish dancing. The Celtic Angels are bringing their vocals as the stars of this event, according to the Bardavon’s website<\/a>, and will be accompanied by live performances from the Trinity Ensemble as well as the Celtic Knight Dancers. The show commences at 7:30 p.m. and tickets, along with an overview what to expect, can be found at bardavon.org\/shows\/celtic-angels-ireland\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

Carrie Zazz Band at Curry Estate’s St. Patrick’s celebration on March 14:<\/strong> For this “shamROCK & ROLL” event, according to the Curry Estate’s website, see the Carrie Zazz Band playing hits from the 1960’s to 1990’s from classic rock to country, along with pop and dance. There will be a festive buffet, including items like Irish soda bread, corned beef and cabbage. Guests will find a cash bar and nonalcoholic drinks available for purchase too. This event, starting at 6 p.m., is $35, plus tax and tip. Tickets can be purchased at curryestate.com.<\/a><\/p>\n\n

Get Irish whiskey in Dutchess County: Traghaven Whiskey Pub & Co.<\/h2>\n

Open Wednesday to Saturday from 6 p.m. to midnight, Traghaven Whiskey Pub & Co., situated at 66 Broadway in Tivoli, might be the place for you if you are looking to indulge with Irish whiskey to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.<\/p>\n

The Irish pub, named after Traghaven Road in Cork, Ireland, claims to have the largest selection of Irish whiskey in the United States, according to their website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Browse their whiskey menu by single-malt, blended, single-pot still, ryes, bourbons and Scotch. However, they also feature an array of local, domestic and imported beers and wines, as well as cocktails.<\/p>\n\n

For St. Patrick’s Day, they’ll be open earlier, starting at 2 p.m., serving corned beef and cabbage dinners, cottage pies, along with a limited menu. At 6:30 p.m., guests can listen to a traditional Irish music session. However, space is limited, so make a reservation; call them at 845-757-3777.<\/p>\n
