Season 7<\/a> of Rock the Block<\/a> is putting a twist on the HGTV competition show\u2019s format.<\/p>\n Rather than have duos of HGTV stars compete against each other, the show\u2019s new season will see some of the network\u2019s biggest personalities compete with celebrity partners who are passionate about home renovation and design.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was interesting because all the different celebrities have different levels of experience and interest and involvement,\u201d Mina Starsiak Hawk<\/a> told People<\/a> of the partner switch-up in an interview published on Tuesday, March 3. \u201cIt\u2019s like a new relationship. You have a new boyfriend, and you\u2019re like, \u2018OK, well, how do you like to do things? And how do we talk through disagreements and make decisions? And what do you care about and what do you not care about?’\u201d<\/p>\n She added, \u201cI think you\u2019ll see in the season that some people\u2019s partners were more agreeable than others, but in a fun way. Not in an angry, mean way.\u201d<\/p>\n The Good Bones<\/a> alum will compete with Super Champion and actor Vernon Davis<\/a>. \u201cKnowing that he was a football player, knowing his position and when he played in the league, I was like, no matter what, he\u2019s going to be a good teammate,\u201d she said of her celeb partner. \u201cYou just aren\u2019t the kind of person that thinks you can do it all by yourself if you\u2019re successful in the NFL for that long the way he was. So I knew that was going to be great.\u201d<\/p>\n Chelsea Meissner, Kim Wolfe, Mina Starsiak Hawk, Vernon Davis, Ty Pennington, Taniya Nayak, Drew Lachey, Brooke Hogan and Scott McGillivray, ‘Rock the Block’ Season 7, HGTV, premieres April 13, 2026.<\/p>\n HGTV<\/p>\n Starsiak Hawk went on to describe the rest of the Season 7 cast as \u201csuch an eclectic group.\u201d The other duos include Renovation Resort Showdown<\/a>\u2018s Scott McGillivray<\/a> and TV personality and design firm owner Brooke Hogan<\/a>, Battle on the Beach<\/a>\u2018s Taniya Nayak<\/a> and singer and actor Drew Lachey<\/a>, and Why the Heck Did I Buy This House?<\/a> host Kim Wolfe<\/a> and Survivor<\/a> alum and Bravo star Chelsea Meissner.<\/p>\n \u201cAlthough all of us that were on it were incredibly competitive, we all got along,\u201d Starsiak Hawk said of the cast\u2019s dynamic. \u201cWe went to dinner outside of filming and hung out and did fun things and everyone getting along was lovely. It was refreshing.\u201d<\/p>\n Starsiak Hawk shared that the cast got up to \u201cso much shenanigans\u201d during filming and some funny memories about her own teammate.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s several instances where Vernon, my partner, who\u2019s a giant ex NFL player, would just physically move someone that he didn\u2019t want where they were,\u201d she joked, \u201cJust always messing with each other and playing around. And I\u2019m pretty sure Brooke got a couple solid tackles of Vernon because she\u2019s a tall lady as well.\u201d<\/p>\n Starsiak Hawk previously competed on Season 1 of Rock the Block and has returned as a judge in the past. Her judging experience is something she told the outlet influenced her role as a competitor on Season 7.<\/p>\n \u201cEvery decision I make, I also reflect on if I was a judge, this is what I would say about this,\u201d she stated. \u201cOr the thing that goes wrong that I don\u2019t have the budget or time to fix \u2014 if I was a judge, this is what I would say and this is why I would dock you and you wouldn\u2019t win.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cSo while it\u2019s definitely, I think, a bit of an edge to have both perspectives, it also was just mental gymnastics all the time.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/span><\/div>\n
