Disney\u2019s remake of the 1973 animated movie \u201cRobin Hood\u201d is no longer moving forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cBlindspotting<\/a>\u201d and \u201cRaya and the Last Dragon<\/a>\u201d director Carlos L\u00f3pez Estrada<\/a> shared the update during a Reddit<\/a> Ama earlier this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cIts dead sadly,\u201d Estrada<\/a> wrote. \u201cI say sadly because I actually thought there was something really special (and original!) there. Some truly extraordinary music we had figured out for it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The live-action\/CGI hybrid movie was announced in April 2020 as being in early development for Disney+<\/a>. Estrada was on board to helm the remake from a script by Kari Granlund<\/a>, who wrote 2019\u2019s Disney+ reboot of \u201cLady and the Tramp<\/a>.\u201d Justin Springer<\/a> (\u201cDumbo<\/a>\u201d and \u201cTron: Legacy<\/a>\u201d) would produce.<\/p>\n

While the Disney project is dead, Estrada added, \u201cI keep [daydreaming] about doing it independently with different characters.\u201d<\/p>\n
