The film features her husband, Peter Sarsgaard<\/a>, and her brother, Jake Gyllenhaal<\/a>, and a reunion with Jessie Buckley<\/a>, who starred in her feature directorial debut, \u201cThe Lost Daughter<\/a>.\u201d As for the bride\u2019s monster groom, she landed on her \u201cDark Knight<\/a>\u201d co-star, Christian Bale<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was almost like meeting him again,\u201d Gyllenhaal said about Bale<\/a> at the film\u2019s New York premiere on Tuesday night. \u201cWhat was required of him in this movie, I needed his whole heart, his whole mind. We really needed to make friends \u2014 which we did \u2014 in order to do this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gyllenhaal told Variety that her husband, Sarsgaard, \u201cwas in on the whole process\u201d of bringing the $90 million fever dream to life, ranging from workshopping ideas to reading drafts of the script. Her brother, Jake, came into the picture later on.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
