The former NYC mayor says he has no plans to chase a movie deal, but if his life ever makes it to the big screen, he already has one actor in mind.<\/p>\n
Former New York City mayor Eric Adams<\/a> may be settling into life outside City Hall, but he already has casting ideas if Hollywood ever comes calling.<\/p>\n While passing through Los Angeles this week, Adams was asked a lighthearted question that has followed many political figures after leaving office: if his life were turned into a movie, who should play him?<\/p>\n His answer came easily.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ll tell Denzel to do it,\u201d Adams joked to TMZ<\/a>.<\/p>\n The comment came during a quick conversation with reporters at LAX, where Adams reflected on what life has looked like since stepping away from one of the most demanding political jobs in the country. Though he joked about casting two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington<\/a>, Adams made it clear he has no interest in chasing Hollywood himself.<\/p>\n \u201cNah. No,\u201d he said when asked if he\u2019d ever consider going into entertainment. \u201cI\u2019ve done enough public life.\u201d<\/p>\n Instead, Adams says he\u2019s been enjoying a different pace of life after years in politics, though his mornings look pretty familiar.<\/p>\n \u201cI still get up early. I still do my meditation, my breathing, my exercise,\u201d he explained. \u201cI drink my green smoothie, and then I go through all the businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n These days, Adams says he\u2019s working with companies and advising cities, helping them modernize systems and apply lessons he learned while leading New York City<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m dealing with a bunch of businesses now,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m really helping cities modernize what they\u2019re doing, and it\u2019s really a pleasure using that experience.\u201d<\/p>\n The work has also taken him far beyond New York. Adams said he\u2019s been traveling frequently since leaving office.<\/p>\n \u201cOut of the two months I\u2019ve been out of office, I\u2019ve been in the city about 10 days,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Even as he embraces his new chapter, Adams still has thoughts about the job he left behind. When asked how current mayor Zohran Mamdani<\/a> is doing, Adams offered a measured response that sounded a lot like advice from someone who has already walked that path.<\/p>\n \u201cI say to him over and over every morning, idealism collides with realism,\u201d Adams said. \u201cThe idealistic approach isn\u2019t always the real approach. Government is real.\u201d<\/p>\n
