More than seven years after then-newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan embarked on their hugely successful Aussie tour, the couple is reportedly heading back Down Under.<\/p>\n

A source confirmed exclusively to news.com.au that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to visit Sydney and Melbourne in mid-April. <\/p>\n

While their last trip to our shores was in an official capacity as working members of the royal family, this time around they\u2019re travelling as private citizens \u2013 and it\u2019s understood they\u2019ll be focusing on activities related to their businesses and philanthropic work.<\/p>\n

Details of their specific plans remain unclear, but it\u2019s been rumoured that Meghan will appear as a guest on the Her Best Life<\/i> podcast, which was initially launched and co-hosted by Jackie \u201cO\u201d Henderson and Gemma O\u2019Neill through their \u201cBesties\u201d company. Earlier this year, just a couple of weeks before her high-profile and abrupt recent exit from her KIIS breakfast show<\/a>, Henderson revealed that she had decided to \u201cstep away\u201d from the venture.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s rumoured that Meghan will also appear as a special guest at an upcoming \u201cBesties\u201d event, following in the footsteps of previous VIP speaker Gwyneth Paltrow.<\/p>\n

The actress took part in a wide-ranging Q&A with Henderson back in 2023 which attracted around 3,000 ticketholders to the ICC in Sydney\u2019s Darling Harbour \u2013 so Meghan\u2019s appearance could be in a similar capacity.<\/p>\n

Despite Henderson\u2019s recent departure from the Besties company, she hinted last month that she may return in some capacity in the future – and perhaps Meghan\u2019s involvement could be one such occasion.<\/p>\n

While details of the couple\u2019s itinerary are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks, it\u2019s likely that Harry\u2019s plans will involve Australia\u2019s armed forces or veterans\u2019 community, given his strong connections to both.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s understood he also has a number of friends locally, fostered across multiple previous visits, including during his month-long stay with the ADF at an army barracks in Darwin back in 2015.<\/p>\n

And in his 2023 memoir, Harry gushed over his time living in Australia as a 19-year-old in 2003.<\/p>\n

He wrote in Spare<\/i> that working as a jackaroo on a farm in rural Queensland had helped him find inner peace during what were \u201csome of the best\u201d weeks of his life.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not yet known whether the Sussexes\u2019 children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, will join them on the trip next month or stay back at the family\u2019s home in Montecito, California.<\/p>\n

News.com.au understands that the royal couple\u2019s Aussie visit has been in the works for almost a year.<\/p>\n

Harry and Meghan\u2019s lives have certainly undergone a dramatic transformation in the seven and a half years since they last came to Australia.<\/p>\n

The visit, undertaken in conjunction with Sydney\u2019s Invictus Games and a broader Pacific tour, was deemed a major success and garnered significant international coverage \u2013 but less than 18 months later, they quit official duties amid their struggles within the institution and relocated to the US to forge a new life.<\/p>\n

Meghan launched her own Netflix series, With Love, Meghan<\/i>, early last year, as part of her and Harry\u2019s previous deal with the streaming giant. The show aired two seasons and a holiday special but is understood to only be returning for one-off episodes in future.<\/p>\n

It was released in collaboration with her lifestyle brand, As Ever, which sells an array of cooking and lifestyle products, including edible flower sprinkles, jams, candles and wine.<\/p>\n

Netflix initially came onboard as a partner in the rollout of As Ever, but it was reported on Friday<\/a> that the two parties have now split, with Meghan taking \u201ccomplete control\u201d of her business.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, since quitting royal duties, Harry has largely been focusing on his charity work and initiatives related to the Invictus Games, both of which have seen him return to the UK a number of times in recent years.<\/p>\n

The duke and duchess have just returned from a whirlwind two-day tour in Jordan focused on highlighting organisations supporting vulnerable communities impacted by conflict and other regional issues.<\/p>\n

They were invited to the Middle East by the World Health Organisation\u2019s director-general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who hosted them for a roundtable discussion alongside diplomats and senior figures from UN agencies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
