href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldtribune.com\/story\/news\/local\/venice\/2025\/11\/26\/steube-seeks-100-million-in-federal-funds-for-venice-south-jetty\/87466274007\/\"> at the South Jetty, <\/a>remains closed for the foreseeable future, there are still plenty of Sarasota County spots where it\u2019s possible to watch the sun sink into the west and perhaps catch a glimpse of the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldtribune.com\/story\/news\/2006\/09\/08\/a-flash-of-green\/28499697007\/\">storied \u201cflash of green\u201d<\/a> when the light is here are eight of the best free spots \u2014 mostly beaches \u2014 where it\u2019s possible to sit down and enjoy the sunset.<\/p>\n<p><media-gallery-promo asset-id=\"88907319007\" class=\"column ten-column no-gutter spacer-large\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\">Blind Pass Beach<\/h2>\n<p>Blind Pass Beach, often referred to by locals as \u201cMiddle Beach,\u201d is located at 6725 Manasota Key Road, Englewood \u2014 just north of the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldtribune.com\/story\/entertainment\/arts\/2026\/01\/16\/hermitage-artist-retreat-expands-footprint-with-help-of-a-land-gift\/88210954007\/\">Hermitage Artist Retreat.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 66-acre park offers free parking, restrooms, a playground, and is also a prime spot for finding fossilized shark teeth.<\/p>\n<partner-banner Municipal Fishing Pier<\/h2>\n<p>Sure, the fittest sunset aficionados can park at South Brohard Beach Park and walk to Caspersen Beach, too, but for our purposes, let\u2019s keep to easy parking areas.\u00a0<\/p>\n<partner-inline util-module-path=\"elements\/partner\" class=\"spacer-large\" placement=\"native-article_link\" sizes=\"[[300, 250], [3, 3]]\" min-height=\"250\" fluid=\"\" outstream=\"\"\/>\n<p>All three miles of beach in Venice are public, with the Venice Municipal Fishing Pier at 1600 Harbor Drive South the easiest landmark.<\/p>\n<p><cta-atoms-container-inline util-module-path=\"elements\/cta\" class=\"spacer-large\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Brohard Paw Park, 1850 Harbor Drive South, is a pet-friendly beach and sunset-viewing spot.<\/p>\n<p>Service Club Park, 1190 Harbor Drive South, includes wheelchair access and boardwalk access to the beach.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\">Venice Beach<\/h2>\n<p>Venice Beach, located at 101 The Esplanade, features an iconic beach pavilion designed by architects William Lindh and Cyril Tucker and built in 1964.<\/p>\n<partner-banner util-module-path=\"elements\/partner\" fluid=\"\" bottom=\"\" lazy=\"\" class=\"spacer-large\" min-height=\"600\" outstream=\"\" momentum=\"\"\/>\n<p>There is also wheelchair access to the beach near the pavilion.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to parking near the pavilion, the city also offers parking at Merle Graser Park, located at the corner of Barcelona Avenue and Apalacicola Road.<\/p>\n<partner-inline util-module-path=\"elements\/partner\" beach.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\">North Jetty Beach Park\/Nokomis Beach<\/h2>\n<p>North Jetty Beach Park, 1000 South Casey Key Road, is on the northern side of the 100-foot-wide Venice Inlet and offers a view most similar to that from Humphris Park.<\/p>\n<p>Nokomis Beach Park, located at 100 South Casey Key Road, features a pavilion designed by architect Jack West that is on the National Register of Historic Places.<\/p>\n<p>It offers boardwalk access to Nokomis Beach.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\">Turtle Beach\/Siesta Beach<\/h2>\n<p>Turtle Beach, 8918 wp-block-heading\">Sarasota Bayfront Park and Bird Key Park<\/h2>\n<p>One doesn\u2019t have to venture to the Gulf for a prime sunset view.<\/p>\n<p>Bayfront Park, 5 Bayfront Drive, Sarasota, and Bird Key Park, 200 John Ringling Causeway, offer sunset views with leashed pets allowed.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\">Lido Key beaches<\/h2>\n<p>Lido Beach, 400 Benjamin Franklin Drive, and Ted Sperling Park at South Lido Beach, 2201 Benjamin Franklin Drive, are the closest beaches to the city of Sarasota \u2014 with the added bonus of being adjacent to St. Armands Circle.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\">Nathan Benderson Park\/The Celery Fields<\/h2>\n<p>No beach? No problem.
