Music is king in Iceland. Choosing events for this week\u2019s column proved challenging, as there are quite a few worth mentioning. Still, we\u2019ve selected the unmissable ones: from a two-day festival at DIY venue R6013 to a jazz night and a sophisticated electronic set by Halld\u00f3r Eldj\u00e1rn<\/span>. At this Mengi concert<\/a>, the artist will present newly customised musical instruments and unusual speakers, but above all \u2013 some unreleased music.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Stella on Holiday<\/i>, a party screening at B\u00ed\u00f3 Parad\u00eds, 21.00<\/strong><\/p>\n A late evening comedy screening is a perfect scenario for Friday. This 1986 film is an Icelandic classic which combines dark humour of <\/span>Monty Python<\/span><\/i> and grotesque of <\/span>Weekend at Bernie\u2019s<\/span><\/i>. A home to the independent label Why not? Pl\u00f6tur, it regularly hosts shows and festivals. In keeping with its name, <\/span>World Narcosis features collectives blending occult dark side with ethereal light. Three bands performing on the first night<\/a> are darkwave trio K\u00e6lan Mikla, death metal unit Grafn\u00e1r and psychedelic black metal outfit \u00d3rei\u00f0a.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Carnival of Souls, a screening at B\u00ed\u00f3 Parad\u00eds, 21.00<\/strong><\/p>\n As usual, B\u00ed\u00f3 Parad\u00eds welcomes everyone to its Black Sunday screening.
