Fox and Christopher Lloyd are celebrating 40 years of Back to the Future<\/em> \u2014 and joking about getting a little bit older<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n The two recently dined together, with Fox sharing a photo of the moment on Instagram<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Both starred in the 1985 film and its two sequels<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n It was a Back to the Future<\/em><\/a> reunion for stars Christopher Lloyd<\/a> and Michael J. Fox,<\/a> who recently dined together and shared a photo on Instagram.<\/p>\n The photo, shared by 64-year-old Fox on his official Instagram account<\/a>, showed the two seated next to one another at a restaurant.<\/p>\n Fox captioned the photo: “Dining with my bestie at the beach. Next year BTTF is 41. Great Scott. Chris will be 8\ufe0f\u20e38\ufe0f\u20e3. Fox in Back To The Future Lloyd fired back in the comments, writing, “Man, that\u2019s heavy.”<\/p>\n The caption was a nod to the 40-year-old film, in which Fox played Marty McFly to Lloyd’s Doc Brown. The two both appeared in the hit 1985 science fiction movie and its two sequels, which centered on a high school student who goes back in time and changes both his parents\u2019 lives and his future. It also starred Lea Thompson<\/a> as Lorraine Baines-McFly, Crispin Glover as George McFly and Thomas F. Wilson as Biff Tannen.<\/p>\n Upon its release, the movie was a smash hit, bringing in over $380 million at the box office. The film also won an Oscar, earning four total nominations.<\/p>\n The co-stars have reunited a number of times over the years, often sharing glimpses of their time together<\/a> on social media.<\/p>\n In August, Fox made an appearance at a 40th anniversary screening of the film<\/a> at Southampton Playhouse in Southampton, N.Y. The event included a rare screening of the movie in IMAX, and afterward, Fox took part in a screening conversation moderated by Southampton Playhouse Artistic Director Eric Kohn.<\/p>\n In May, Fox announced that he\u2019d be releasing a memoir, Future Boy<\/em><\/a>, this fall, in which he would recount what it was like filming Back to the Future<\/em> and his beloved sitcom Family Ties<\/em><\/a> at the same time.<\/p>\n He earlier told PEOPLE about that period of his life, \u201c \u2018The only reason for time is so that everything doesn\u2019t happen at once.\u2019 I didn\u2019t say that, Einstein did. I wonder if even Albert could make sense of my life in the first months of 1985, when time went rogue and took me with it. What was it like?
