And for once, regardless of age, gender, race, faith, or political party, we can all agree: Gal Gadot\u2019s video of self-isolated celebrities singing \u201cImagine\u201d is one of the worst things to have ever happened. In the video, which Gadot posted to Instagram on Wednesday, we see Gadot sing the first line of the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/music.avclub.com\/british-folksinger-frank-turner-on-why-he-hates-john-le-1798233794\">treacly John Lennon song<\/a>, and then it cuts to Kristen Wiig with the next line, then Jamie Dornan, and so on, until we\u2019ve witnessed some two dozen celebrities perform deeply embarrassing displays of earnestness. It\u2019s honestly hard to watch\u2014but not uniformly so. Upon further consideration, some of these performances are definitely worse than others, and a few also raise some questions (such as: Who the hell is that floppy-haired kid?). Below, a ranking of the celebrities in the video from least annoying to most, as well as an explanation of who a few of them are\u2014and what they\u2019re all doing here.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w5l4000h3b60bcn9afo6@published\">\n<p>22. Leslie Odom Jr.<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"64\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w5l3000g3b60nqw0pukz@published\">The Hamilton star\u2019s is far and away the least annoying performance of the video. Now, that\u2019s mostly because he\u2019s standing outside in front of flowers and getting some really good natural light\u2014at one point, the sun dapples and then shines gloriously onto his face\u2014and most of us have not been outside in days and are starved for sunlight. The outside world, that looks nice.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w5ln000j3b60e985s0ql@published\">\n<p>21. Maya Rudolph<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"66\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w5ll000i3b60786w8569@published\">Rudolph\u2019s appearance toward the end of the video is a bit of a \u201cphew!\u201d moment: By then, you\u2019ve lost hope that any of your favorite stars are capable of acting in a non-embarrassing way for a few seconds without overperforming or grossing you out in some other way. Rudolph shows it can be done. Also, what are those curtains behind her? Is that couch millennial pink?<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w5mw000m3b60ltjfd0zy@published\">\n<p>20. Lynda Carter<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"77\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w5lr000k3b60sjf2z7js@published\">It took me a few minutes to put together that this whole video is basically a PR maneuver for the new Wonder Woman movie, starring Gal Gadot, that\u2019s supposed to come out this summer, if it doesn\u2019t get yanked from the schedule. Carter\u2019s inclusion is like a subliminal message whispering to us, \u201cGet excited about Wonder Woman 1984!\u201d But that\u2019s not her fault. She looks cute in her turtleneck and headphones, and it\u2019s nice to see her.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w5oh000o3b60lu631x1o@published\">\n<p>19. Amy Adams<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"35\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w5ms000l3b60pls66hrk@published\">Aw, Amy Adams. We can\u2019t ask Amy Adams not to be earnest\u2014that\u2019s like asking an eagle not to soar. It\u2019s cute that she\u2019s a little blurry\u2014still <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1131406\/amy-adams-joins-instagram-for-a-good-cause\">getting used to Insta, Ames?<\/a>\u2014and her hair looks great.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w5pm000r3b60wr9hsyl9@published\">\n<p>18. Sarah Silverman<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"68\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w5n1000n3b60kt9jafmi@published\">Your mileage may vary with this one, but I would argue that Silverman is one of the only performers in the video who understands exactly how corny the project she\u2019s participating in is. I mean, she does it anyway, so maybe she shouldn\u2019t get points for that, but I appreciate the self-aware, is-this-really-happening way she goes for the \u201cyee hee!\u201d sound effect after her line in the song.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w5po000s3b604sy09g9b@published\">\n<p>17. Labrinth<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"40\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w5or000p3b60dogy2jkn@published\">This British musician is one of the few people sprinkled into the video whom you might not know, which is reason to go a little easy on him. I like that he\u2019s sitting in a car. Wonder where he\u2019s going.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w5re000u3b60v6n4jlwo@published\">\n<p>16. Jimmy Fallon<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"12\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w5pk000q3b6004parvd6@published\">Not any more or less annoying than the average Jimmy Fallon bit.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w5rt000w3b603kru2laj@published\">\n<p>15. Sia<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"83\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w5ps000t3b605ikzxa5y@published\">Sia definitely showboats in her performance, which is annoying, but she has the vocal chops to do it, especially in comparison with some of the other chumps in the video. Also notable that even though she\u2019s showing her face now, she hasn\u2019t fully stopped trying to obscure her identity; she\u2019s the only performer who gets two lines and switches to a different scene of her singing, making it seem like maybe the second part is a different person. You can\u2019t fool us, Sia.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w5sy000x3b607ptxdg0e@published\">\n<p>14. Jamie Dornan<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"36\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w5rm000v3b60vroc0lys@published\">Given that this actor is best known for being the super-self-serious Fifty Shades guy, at least getting to see him sing was something different? He\u2019s still cringey, but not as cringey as some of the others.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w5tv000z3b60dtcf5hts@published\">\n<p>13. Annie Mumolo<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"57\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w5t2000y3b607dq2cfbf@published\">There\u2019s nothing that egregious about Mumolo\u2019s clip, apart from maybe some weird shadows, but she should have known better. As an actress and screenwriter who isn\u2019t as famous as many of the people in this video, her delusions about her own importance and how much people want to see her right now should be less strong. Alas.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w62j00123b601u777lsr@published\">\n<p>12. James Marsden<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"30\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w5u600103b601qwe7uzy@published\">Marsden is generally likable, but here he commits the sin of being just a litttttle too proud of his singing. He\u2019s clearly thrilled he got the \u201cAlllllll the pee-pulllllll\u201d line.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w64900143b601t8mjqm6@published\">\n<p>11. Norah Jones<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"56\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w5vj00113b60vxns8wx3@published\">I can\u2019t fault her singing, which is appropriately low-key, but it\u2019s unnerving that this is one of the only ones where the person isn\u2019t filming themselves. Imagine the poor schlub she enlisted to film this for her. \u201cI\u2019m gonna make a video for Gal Gadot, and the internet\u2019s gonna love it!\u201d \u201cOK, Norah.\u201d Also, that hat.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w64i00163b60eadwfnk2@published\">\n<p>10. Mark Ruffalo<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"19\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w62o00133b606ac7fw8f@published\">We are way too close to Ruffalo\u2019s face, and you can tell he thinks he\u2019s being absolutely adorable. Hearing the guy from Narcos sing, except he should be barely trying.\u201d No, and yet here we are.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w657001a3b60y0rrcoy4@published\">\n<p>8. Will Ferrell<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"26\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w64s00173b60ru3au9pn@published\">I guess the hair is supposed to be funny. Instead it adds to the general feeling that maybe he is unwell, maybe they are all unwell.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w65g001c3b601tx4ys35@published\">\n<p>7. Zo\u00eb Kravitz<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"39\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w65100193b60p4mobj15@published\">Another person who\u2019s somehow trying too hard and phoning it in at the same time, as she sits expressionless in front of a fireplace in her so-cool wire-frame glasses. Her skinny arm technique is unparalleled, I\u2019ll give her that.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w65t001e3b606ed1dzpy@published\">\n<p>6. Kristen Wiig<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"34\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w65b001b3b608v1mmyot@published\">The hat, first of all. The beatific look on her face. The way she tries to hold the note on the word try. Kristen Wiig, you have a better sense of humor than this!<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w66e001g3b609e50ah1d@published\">\n<p>5. Chris O\u2019Dowd and his wife, Dawn O\u2019Porter<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"24\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w65i001d3b60vwelavmv@published\">Not to be like \u201cOnly famous people matter!\u201d but why is his wife there? No one else\u2019s spouse joined them. This is very husband-and-wife-who-share-an-email-address.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w66o001i3b605fcm1a01@published\">\n<p>4. Natalie Portman<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"44\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w65z001f3b60ebskus9r@published\">It\u2019s a testament to Portman\u2019s work as an actress that I never realized until today that I really do not like the sound of her voice. She might be the most actually tone-deaf person in the video, as opposed to the more figuratively tone-deaf.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w66w001k3b60oyqzlwm1@published\">\n<p>3. Gal Gadot<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p class=\"slate-paragraph slate-graf\" data-word-count=\"28\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/slate-paragraph\/instances\/ck7z6w66j001h3b608nzdkri7@published\">Gadot\u2019s singing performance on its own isn\u2019t that bad, but she\u2019s the mastermind who put this whole thing together, and she deserves a lot of blame for that.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subhead subhead--none\" data-uri=\"slate.com\/_components\/subhead\/instances\/ck7z6w67j001m3b60rpzb9ild@published\">\n<p>2. He\u2019s apparently an Australian singer, and he\u2019s dating Maddie Ziegler, the teenage dancer and reality star. Each detail of his biography only makes his performance more annoying. If he\u2019s a professional singer, why is he so bad?
