For one night, the modern hum of the Spring Creek Place Events Center was replaced by the rhythmic clinking of tall drink flutes, the sound of an audience awed by unique performances, and the swell of a community coming together for a cause. Victoria BACH Festival opened its 51st season with their \u201cFantastical Music\u201d Renaissance-themed fundraiser that brought the revelry and merriment to the Crossroads and directly supported the local arts and music scene.<\/span><\/p>\n\u201cThis is our largest fundraiser that supports all of the great work that we do the week of the BACH Festival, which is the 1st weekend in June every year, and this is the biggest way that we raise money for all of the great international musicians that come in for this event every year,\u201d Mandy Mueller, BACH Board member and Fundraiser Committee, said on Friday night.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWhile many Renaissance festivals require a long trek to the massive grounds in Todd Mission, BACH brought that magic directly to their backyard. The goal? To prove that high-quality, immersive entertainment doesn\u2019t have to be out of reach \u2014 and that supporting the arts can be as much fun as a roasted turkey leg.<\/span><\/p>\n\u201cEven though we\u2019re small, little Victoria, we actually have this phenomenal BACH Festival that brings people in from everywhere and supports arts in a community that might not necessarily have the means to normally experience this level of musicianship,\u201d Mueller said. \u201cWe try to make these events fun and to have people come out and support us. All these funds raised tonight are going to help bring in the musicians into town and house them and everything that goes into it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\nThe beauty of the BACH Ren Faire lies in its accessibility. Whether you were a dedicated \u201cRenny\u201d with a custom-made suit of armor or a family looking for a Saturday night detour, the atmosphere was designed to be inclusive and magical.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nThe highlight of the evening festivities was the live auction. From the \u201cRoyal Ride Refresh\u201d, a year of detailing donated by Atzenhoffer Auto Family, to the \u201cCourtside Kingdom Getaway,\u201d an all-inclusive NBA weekend package donated by Frost Bank, John Griffin, and Lynn Knaupp, the event proved that supporting the local arts and music community is as rewarding as it is effortless.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n

\u201cWe really appreciate everybody who\u2019s here tonight helping provide the support for us to be able to carry on an event like the BACH festival,\u201d Mueller said. \u201cIt\u2019s a multiple-event festival with different performances happening 2- 3 times a day for an entire week in June, so it\u2019s a huge production that we need a lot of support for.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\nThe proceeds from this fundraiser and many others like it throughout the year go directly toward BACH\u2019s mission of supporting the local arts initiatives.
