SPRINGFIELD, MO \u2013 The downtown music scene is about to get even livelier with a brand-new venue currently in the works.<\/p>\n
The developers of The Holler Music Hall are planning to convert a vacant property at 423 W. Olive into a live music entertainment center and bar.\u00a0 The location is directly behind the College Station Theaters near the intersection of N. Main Ave.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are super pumped to get this thing open,\u201d said Phillip Baird of LIPHT Real Estate.<\/p>\n
The venue would be one of the largest of its kind in the Ozarks.<\/p>\n
Baird explained, \u201cOur goal is to host our first concert in 2026 as it is the 100th anniversary of its being built. It was originally built as a garage when they announced Route 66. It will have a 2000+ capacity.\u201d<\/p>\n
The project\u2019s website explains that the venue will be a state-of-the-art entertainment facility with the latest in audio and lighting technology, and unobstructed views and immersive sound.<\/p>\n
Developers estimate the project will entail a $7-million investment led by business owners and strategic partners. It would deliver an estimated $9-million per year in economic impacts and $200,000 in annual local sales taxes going back to the community.<\/p>\n
Some final details are still being ironed out as the project moves forward.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe only thing we have to get in place is an access easement for a portion of the connected parking lot, which is owned by the city. Working with them to get that taken care of. Bands will need this space to park their buses\/trucks on days of show,\u201d Baird explained.<\/p>\n
Baird told Ozarks First that funding was recently approved, and the development team hopes to break ground on the project in April.<\/p>\n
