Joe Alwyn<\/a> has lined up his next feature film role. The \u201cHamnet<\/a>\u201d and \u201cThe Brutalist<\/a>\u201d actor will star alongside Rachel Weisz<\/a> and Matthew Macfadyen<\/a> in Tomas Alfredson<\/a>\u2019s new drama \u201cSeance on a Wet Afternoon<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The film, based on Mark McShane<\/a>\u2019s 1961 novel which was then made into a 1964 movie starring Kim Stanley<\/a> and Richard Attenborough<\/a>, is penned by \u201cAdolescence<\/a>\u201d co-creator and Emmy winner Jack Thorne<\/a>. \u201cSeance on a Wet Afternoon<\/a>\u201d follows \u201cMyra<\/a>, a self-proclaimed medium who convinces her husband Billy to kidnap the son of a wealthy family so she can lead the police to the \u2018missing\u2019 child and legitimize her psychic abilities,\u201d its synopsis reads. \u201cWhen Myra\u2019s true intentions come to light, however, Billy realizes her plan threatens to consume them both.\u201d Principal photography is now underway in the U.K.<\/p>\n
