\n\tThe rock & roll origin story of Bon Jovi<\/a> is coming to a screen near you, and founder and frontman Jon Bon Jovi<\/a> is onboard.<\/p>\n

\n\tRolling Stone<\/em> has confirmed the film is in the works with the singer and songwriter\u2019s involvement.<\/p>\n

\n\tUniversal Pictures is producing the musical biopic, the latest in a string of music-focused films that includes the Eminem story 8 Mile<\/em> and 2015\u2019s Straight Outta Compton<\/em>, which traced the formation of gangsta rappers N.W.A. According to a report<\/a>, the Bon Jovi production will have access to the music library of the New Jersey group.<\/p>\n

\n\tThat means jukebox staples like \u201cLivin\u2019 on a Prayer,\u201d \u201cWanted Dead or Alive,\u201d \u201cYou Give Love a Bad Name,\u201d and \u201cBad Medicine\u201d will likely be heard in the film, which is produced by Kevin J. Walsh and Gotham Chopra. The latter\u2019s involvement is notable: Chopra produced the four-part Hulu documentary about Bon Jovi, 2024\u2019s Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story<\/a><\/em>. The docuseries also involved Jon Bon Jovi, who sat for interviews and shared personal details about voice issues and the surgery he underwent to resolve them. \u201cI don\u2019t have a messiah complex,\u201d he said in one interview, choking back tears. \u201cAnyway, that\u2019s why the legacy matters.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBon Jovi released the album Forever<\/em> in 2024, the band\u2019s 40th anniversary. Late last year, the group announced their return to the concert stage<\/a>. They\u2019ll play their first gigs in four years this July with a string of shows at Madison Square Garden in New York, and a handful of dates in the U.K.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
