In the lyrics, they capture the overwhelming feeling of love, and compare it to a dying star.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>You\u2019ve got me dying like a star\/ Centuries apart, sunlike in the battered sky<\/em>,\u201d R\u00f8nnenfelt sings in the chorus. \u201c<em>You\u2019ve got me dying like a star\/ Europe into a studded veil<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The song also comes with an accompanying video directed by Thinh T. Petrus Nguyen. Check it out below.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Iceage - Star (Official Music Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1rvqA8rMTu8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>While the band have not shared any music since their 2021 album, until now, the frontman\u2019s first solo outing, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/eliasronnenfelt.bandcamp.com\/album\/heavy-glory\">\u2018Heavy Glory\u2019<\/a>, arrived in 2024, and <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/features\/music-interviews\/elias-ronnenfelt-interview-heavy-glory-3809533\">he spoke to <em>NME<\/em> at the time<\/a> about how he was inspired by musical travels across Europe, where he would write songs in the day, then road-test them at shows at night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m out here on my own with a guitar. I can write something, play it right away, and it doesn\u2019t have to be rehearsed. There was freedom in that, realising that the road from writing to putting it in front of people is extremely short,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the common thing for all of the songs on the record \u2013 they were meant to be able to function when stripped back to basics. Iceage always did that as well. We always played new material before it was anywhere near recorded.
