Kate Winslet<\/a> is venturing from Pandora to Middle-earth.<\/p>\n

The beloved actress, who was recently in James Cameron<\/a>\u2019s \u201cAvatar: Fire and Ash<\/a>,\u201d is in talks to star in \u201cLord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.\u201d She\u2019ll join Andy Serkis<\/a>, who is directing in addition to reprising his role as the creature from the original trilogy. Warner Bros.<\/a> hasn\u2019t confirmed who will appear in the upcoming film, but Elijah Wood<\/a> and Ian McKellen<\/a> are rumored to be returning as Frodo Baggins and Gandalf<\/a>, respectively.<\/p>\n

Peter Jackson<\/a>, who originally adapted the J. R. R. Tolkien<\/a> novel for the big screen, is producing \u201cThe Hunt for Gollum\u201d with his creative partners Fran Walsh<\/a> and Philippa Boyens<\/a>. They \u201cwill be involved every step of the way,\u201d Warner Bros. Discovery<\/a> CEO David Zaslav<\/a> said during a 2024 earnings call.<\/p>\n

This project will reunite Winslet with Jackson<\/a>, who directed her in 1994\u2019s \u201cHeavenly Creatures<\/a>.<\/p>\n
