Meredith Gaudreau<\/strong><\/a> had \u201ca bad gut feeling\u201d before hearing the news of husband Johnny Gaudreau<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

During the Thursday, March 12, episode of Kylie Kelce<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cNot Gonna Lie\u201d podcast<\/a>, Meredith recalled the night she found out that Johnny had died.<\/p>\n

Meredith told listeners that Johnny\u2019s uncle was the one who delivered the news of his death, but \u201che didn\u2019t even have to say it,\u201d she explained. \u201cIt was just, like, a look.\u201d<\/p>\n

Johnny and his brother, Matthew Gaudreau<\/strong>, were involved in a fatal biking accident in August 2024<\/a>. They were 31 and 29, respectively. Sean M. Higgins<\/strong> has been accused of killing both hockey players, admitting to drinking prior to the accident. Higgins is facing several charges, including first-degree aggravated manslaughter, two counts of second-degree reckless vehicular homicide, one count of tampering with physical evidence (fourth-degree) and leaving the scene of a fatal accident (second-degree).<\/p>\n

Following the memorial service for Johnny and his brother, Matthew Gaudreau, Kristen took to Instagram to share a supportive message for Meredith. \u201cSo proud of you Meredith. I\u2019m so glad I found [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He has filed to have some charges dismissed<\/a> and has a hearing set for April 14.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was at my parents\u2019 house and just got a call, like, \u2018Come over.\u2019 I didn\u2019t know at all what happened,\u201d Meredith said on Thursday. \u201cWhen I got there, though, there [were] a lot of cop cars out front and it was starting to rain.\u201d<\/p>\n

Initially, Meredith was told there was an incident involving Matthew, and her concern was helping Johnny \u201cget through\u201d whatever happened to his brother.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was making all these phone calls because John didn\u2019t have his phone on him,\u201d she recalled. \u201cHe left his phone at his parents\u2019 house. So I was like, \u2018I have no clue what\u2019s going on.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cAnd just hit me like a ton of bricks. I remember being like, \u2018This can\u2019t be real.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tFollowing Johnny Gaudreau\u2019s tragic death, wife Meredith Gaudreau praised the late hockey player\u2019s skills as a parent. \u201cThe absolute best dad in the world. So caring and loving,\u201d Meredith wrote via Instagram on Saturday, August 31. \u201cThe best partner to go through parenthood with.\u201d Prior to his death on Thursday, August 29 \u2014 he and [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Meredith said she remembers that day \u201clike it was yesterday\u201d even though it\u2019s been nearly two years since Johnny died.<\/p>\n

\u201c[It\u2019s] something that can\u2019t stop playing in my head, but it doesn\u2019t feel real still,\u201d she added. \u201cSome people said it\u2019s like a defense mechanism.\u201d<\/p>\n
