It’s another big event weekend in Sumter and Lake counties. The Leesburg Art Festival, just one year shy of a half-century, is taking over the Towne Square. St. Patrick’s Day events are happening from Friday through Tuesday. Oh, and Paul Anka will be doing it his way in The Villages. See what else is happening:<\/p>\n A local history and music lovers favorite, the Will McLean Folk Music Festival<\/strong> features 80 musical groups across four covered stages March 13-14. Expect original and traditional songs in Americana, blues, Celtic, bluegrass, country and modern folk, plus workshops, jam areas, a young musicians program, kids\u2019 corner, Saturday night contra dance, and food and craft vendors in a woodsy setting.<\/p>\n The annual family-friendly event, also known as “Willfest,” is named after a legendary folk singer who was born in Chipley and died at age 70 in 1990. McLean sang about Osceola and other Florida tales. His ashes were scattered into the Ocklawaha River\u00a0at Gore’s Landing, where a marker honors him.
