Aspen Laugh Festival Late Night Lounge, which began March 11, runs nightly at 10:30 p.m. through March 14 at Bad Harriett at Hotel Jerome. Retro stoke returns to Aspen for the next Radical Wednesdays throwback ski films series. The final two installments feature Matchstick Productions. \u201cGlobal Storming,\u201d the 1999 film following elite athletes chasing winter around the world, will screen at 7 p.m. March 18 at Aspen Isis Theatre, hosted by Clay Dahlman. World champion freeskier Wendy Fisher will make a guest appearance. The first 40 guests in retro ski attire will receive a $2 beer coupon. Local shops will give away prizes, including a ski tune from Gorsuch, Vallon ski goggles, Lowdown helmets, Baist gloves and mittens, Outpost Aspen hats and Snow Glow caps. Advanced ticket prices for Aspen Film members are $15, non-members are $20 and day-of-the-event tickets are $25. Marcia Weese Artist\u2019s Talk, March 13<\/h2>\n

The Art Base presents \u201c5 DECADES,\u201d a retrospective of Marcia Weese\u2019s work, on view March 13 through April 10. The opening reception will take place from 5 to 7 p.m., March 13, with an artist\u2019s talk at 5:30 p.m. at The Art Base, located at 174 Midland Ave. in Basalt. Weese\u2019s parents were close friends of Elizabeth and Walter Paepcke \u2014 fellow Chicagoans \u2014 and she has a deep understanding of Aspen\u2019s history from 1949 up to when 20th Century Fox purchased the Aspen Skiing Company. \u201cAs a child, the town felt magical \u2014 like being inside a snow globe. While that era has passed, I remain grateful to have experienced what many now refer to as \u2018old Aspen,’\u201d Weese said in a press release. Admission is free and open to the public. The Aspen Art Gallery will host \u201cDreams of the Wilderness,\u201d a 2026 solo exhibition by Snowmass-based Artist Isabella Garaffa. The public opening reception will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the gallery, located at 427 E. Hyman Ave. Garaffa\u2019s landscapes capture the Roaring Fork Valley with \u201cclarity, atmosphere and emotion \u2026 Her work celebrates the serenity, grandeur and fleeting moments of light that define light in the high country,\u201d according to a gallery press statement. The Aspen Institute\u2019s Hurst High School Great Ideas Seminar brings students across the valley to participate in a four-day experience for confidence building, character and critical thinking. The theme this year is \u201cThe Pursuit of Freedom: Independence and Responsibility.\u201d The seminar runs daily from 2 to 6 p.m. March 16-19 at the Paepcke Library at the Aspen Institute, located at 1000 N.
