Malin Akerman<\/a> is set to be honored at The Hollywood Reporter\u2019s Women in Entertainment Canada gala event on May 28.<\/p>\n

Akerman, who stars alongside Brittany Snow<\/a> as manipulative socialite Margo Banks in the Netflix<\/a> series adaptation of The Hunting Wives<\/a> from Lionsgate<\/a>, will receive the Impact Award at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Toronto. Ontario-raised Akerman will be feted as a Canadian trailblazer who has advanced the representation of women in the entertainment industry and inspired audiences globally.<\/p>\n

Having made her acting debut in a Canadian sci-fi series Earth: Final Conflict<\/a> in 1997, Akerman went on to star in over 75 major studio movies, indie films and TV series. Her credits include the comedy Chick Fight<\/a>, where she starred opposite Bella Thorne<\/a> and Dulc\u00e9 Sloan<\/a>; Couples Retreat<\/a>, alongside Vince Vaughn<\/a>; appearing with Kat Dennings<\/a> in Nicol Paone<\/a>\u2019s Friendsgiving<\/a>; AMC<\/a>\u2019s Soulmates<\/a>, the anthology sci-fi drama; and Trish Sie<\/a>\u2019s Netflix middle-school adventure The Sleepover<\/a>.<\/p>\n
