No one may have been happier than Mark DeRosa to see Italy thump Mexico 9-1 on Wednesday in the World Baseball Classic.<\/p>\n

DeRosa, the Team USA manager, apparently thought his team<\/a> had booked its place in the knockout rounds of the WBC before playing Italy on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

Thanks in part to Royals outfielder Jac Caglianone<\/a>, Italy upset Team USA and DeRosa soon realized that his team needed help to advance to the quarterfinals.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, Italy came through by beating Mexico.<\/p>\n

Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino hit three home runs for Italy and looked directly into the camera in a postgame interview and said: \u201cYou\u2019re welcome, USA<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

A lonely nation turned its eyes to Pasquantino as he put on a show Wednesday night. Well, pensive USA fans did, and many thanked Pasquantino. A number of Tony Soprano memes were shared, too, and this was fun to see.<\/p>\n
