Billy Joel<\/a>‘s daughter, Alexa Ray, is giving an update on her father’s health<\/a> nearly a year after he opened up about his battle with a neurological condition<\/a>.<\/p>\n “He’s doing physical therapy regularly and he’s doing great. He’s lost weight as he’s on his diet,” Ray, a singer herself, told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> in an interview published Thursday, March 12. “I’m so proud of him. He’s such a trooper, so resilient and committed to being healthy and proactive. He’s a fighter. He’s always been a fighter and talks\u00a0in his documentary\u00a0about how life’s like a fight.”<\/p>\n Joel, 76,<\/a>\u00a0revealed in May that he had been diagnosed with a\u00a0brain disorder known as normal pressure hydrocephalus<\/a>. A statement posted on Joel<\/a>‘s Instagram at the time said the condition<\/a> has “been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance.”<\/p>\n
