There was a moment in time when we weren\u2019t even sure if the third season of Euphoria was happening, given how the show\u2019s principal cast had entered the realm of A-list movie stars, and coordinating their schedules seemed an impossible feat.\u00a0Suddenly, in December, seemingly out of nowhere, a third season teaser appeared. Yet, as one of HBO\u2019s preeminent hits of the 2020s, there\u2019s barely been any promo since, as rumors\u00a0of the show\u2019s dysfunction cloud the long-awaited return.<\/p>\n

In the past, the show\u2019s creator, Sam Levinson<\/strong>, has been accused of creating toxic work environments, scheduling grueling shooting days, and having an obsession with writing teen sex scenes. Before Season 2, Barbie Ferreira<\/strong> left the show<\/a> over disagreements with Levinson regarding her character\u2019s storyline. Honestly, following the drama is better than the show itself. And this week the saga continues\u2026<\/div>\n

First item of business: On Thursday, musician Labrinth<\/strong>, a featured artist on the soundtrack of Season 2, posted a notes-app declaration<\/a> to Instagram saying, \u201cF*CK COLUMBIA [Records]\u2026DOUBLE F*CK EUPHORIA.\u201d Wow.\u00a0Tell us how you really feel! He also declared he\u2019s \u201cDONE\u201d with the entire industry. What the hell happened with this season???? \u00a0<\/div>\n

Good for Labrinth for not being subtle in his shade, so we don\u2019t have to speculate, but this confirms what we already thought: this show has spiraled into a full-on shit show.<\/p>\n

Second item of business: The show is also responsible for making a star out of Sydney Sweeney<\/strong>, who carries around her own cloud of drama, including dating Scooter Braun<\/a>, attending the Bezos<\/strong> wedding, being a registered Republican in Florida<\/a>, and defending a maybe-not-or-maybe-yes eugenics-sounding American Eagle commercial<\/a>, which earned her the nickname MAGA Barbie. (Remember the Great Jean War<\/a> of 2025? Those were the days.)<\/div>\n

In November, there was speculation that Sweeney and Zendaya<\/strong> were beefing<\/a> after a source told the Daily Mail that Zendaya refused to do press with Sweeney, due to Sweeney\u2019s shit politics. We didn\u2019t know the truth until\u2026<\/div>\n

This week. Kind of. The show released another short promotional video<\/a> featuring Zendaya, Hunter Schafer<\/strong>, Alexa Demie<\/strong>, and Maude Apatow<\/strong>\u2014so the entire female cast, except Sweeney. People were very quick to clock the absence, speculating that Zendaya is continuing to refuse to be anywhere near her. Page Six reports<\/a> that they were told Sweeney was simply filming a scene while the promo video was being put together. Sure, Jan.\u00a0<\/div>\n

If you\u2019re asking me\u2014which you are\u2014I think they should have thrown in the towel after Season 1. Season 2 was a pure Sam Levinson ego trip. And now that the characters\u2019 storylines have dissipated, this new season is definitely just a shameless cash grab.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been four years since we saw these \u201chigh schoolers,\u201d so let\u2019s hope they\u2019re all, at the very least, college graduates by now!<\/p>\n
