Billy Joel\u2019s<\/a> daughter Alexa Ray Joel is proud he is taking his health seriously. <\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s doing physical therapy regularly and he\u2019s doing great. He\u2019s lost weight as he\u2019s on his diet,\u201d the singer-songwriter told the Hollywood Reporter<\/a> in an interview published Thursday. \u201cI\u2019m so proud of him. He\u2019s always been a fighter and talks in his documentary about how life\u2019s like a fight.\u201d <\/p>\n The \u201cPiano Man\u201d singer, who was the subject of the two-part HBO documentary \u201cBilly Joel: And So It Goes<\/a>,\u201d revealed in May that he had been diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus<\/a>, or NPH, a disorder caused by a buildup of cerebrospinal fluid in the ventricles of the brain. According to a statement shared at the time, Joel\u2019s condition was affecting his hearing, vision and balance, and doctors recommended he refrain from performing for a while. <\/p>\n Joel previously shared some encouraging updates<\/a> about his condition in July. <\/p>\n \u201cI know a lot of people are worried about me and my health, but I\u2019m okay,\u201d he told People<\/a>. \u201cWhat I have is something very few people know about, including me, no matter how much you try to research it. I\u2019m doing my best to work with it and to recover from it.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI feel good,\u201d he said during an appearance on Bill Maher\u2019s \u201cClub Random\u201d podcast. \u201cThey keep referring to what I have as a brain disorder, so it sounds a lot worse than what I\u2019m feeling.\u201d <\/p>\n Alexa Ray, Joel\u2019s daughter with ex-wife Christie Brinkley<\/a>, also shared that her father had downplayed his infamous fall during a performance of \u201cIt\u2019s Still Rock and Roll to Me\u201d at a show last year in Connecticut to keep her from worrying. <\/p>\n \u201cWhen I saw the footage, I was crying,\u201d she said. \u201cBut then I went with him to the doctors, and we\u2019re on top of everything.
