But much more absurd is the presence of Jack Black, who provides his signature exuberance with a little \u201cRigi goo goo ga ga\u201d refrain. The song also arrives with a bonkers music video where CA7RIEL, Paco, and Black undergo a \u201cCryo-Cerebral Rebirth\u201d and regress to childlike states to heal their emotional wounds. That\u2019s the exact mission of Brooklyn-born, New Orleans-based rapper Cavalier and prolific, multi-talented underground artist Quelle Chris. <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/cavwins\/reel\/DVvzQLeDRP1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Per Cavalier<\/a>, the song is \u201cabout the quiet work of staying present \u2014 through grief, fatherhood, memory, and the weight of becoming someone new while carrying everything you\u2019ve been.\u201d Also featuring the gifted rappers Navy Blue and Denmark Vessey, \u201cHolding On\u201d is a patchwork of carefully-constructed feelings, about the big and small moments that make us who we are. \u2014\u00a0<em>Kiana Fitzgerald<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Drug Church \u2014 \u201cPynch\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Drug Church &quot;Pynch&quot; (Official Music Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/U7HUsxslEdY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Drug Church frontman Patrick Kindlon said their new song \u201cPynch\u201d is the closest the band has ever come to writing a love song. With the surprisingly sweet, poignant lyrics, it makes sense why he\u2019d feel that way. All the while, though, fans shouldn\u2019t go into the tune expecting some sappy ballad \u2014 and thank god for that. \u201cPynch\u201d sees Drug Church just as sonically huge, blood-pumping, and catchy as ever, with heavy guitars, a melodic bass intro, and Kindlon\u2019s signature deranged vocals. With an assist from fellow cerebral MC billy woods (whose long-running Backwoodz Studioz label released <em>I Guess U Had to Be There<\/em>), E L U C I D uses \u201cThe Lorax\u201d to swim in complex metaphors and multilayered knowledge. \u201cThe machine runs itself\/ You may know the language but not enough to live,\u201d E L U C I D raps toweringly near the end of the track, reminding us to be our own person as we navigate exceedingly-trying times. \u2014 <em>K. It then settles into a more melodic, Pixies-esque verse, setting up for the fireworks that is the return of the aggressive chorus. It\u2019s going to sound fuckin\u2019 great live when they\u2019re\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2025\/10\/foo-fighters-2026-stadium-tour-dates-asking-for-a-friend\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">opening for Foo Fighters later this year<\/a>. \u2014\u00a0<em>J. The rhythm section drives the mid-tempo groove, while the guitars serve to add slightly ominous textures between wailing feedback and a repeated phrase that almost sounds like the \u201cFreak on a Leash\u201d lick if it had been written by people with ironic mullets instead of people with white-dude dreads. At once, it\u2019s blissful and chaotic, crafting a unique tone that brings us back again and again. \u2014 <em>J.
