Dolly Parton<\/strong><\/a><\/span> made a rare public appearance at Dollywood following her recent health scares.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been up to a lot. I\u2019ve not been touring, as you know. I\u2019ve had a few little health issues, and we\u2019re taking good care of them,\u201d Parton, 80, told fans on Friday, March 13, while celebrating a new season of her theme park. \u201cI just kind of got worn down and worn out.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Entertainment Weekly<\/i><\/span><\/a>, the Grammy winner said she has been grieving the loss of her husband, Carl Dean<\/strong>, who died in March 2025<\/span><\/a> at the age of 82. She also admitted there were a lot \u201cof other little things going on.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI just got myself kind of where I needed to build myself back up spiritually, emotionally and physically,\u201d she said. \u201cBut, all is good. It didn\u2019t slow me down.\u201d<\/p>\n

Parton previously made news after she chose to postpone her Las Vegas<\/span><\/a> concert dates and other public events<\/span><\/a> while she recovered from kidney stones<\/span><\/a> and other health ailments over the last six months.<\/p>\n

As Dollywood kicked off its 41st year in East Tennessee on Friday, Parton expressed her hope that Dean would be proud of her for pushing through the ups and downs of life.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Carl Dean\u2019s waiting for me,\u201d she shared. \u201cIf I should show up at the pearly gates with somebody else, he would not like that. He\u2019d be saying, \u2018Who\u2019s that little pisser? You leave him outside the gates.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tDolly Parton is kicking off her 80th birthday celebration early. The country icon, 79, released a new version of her classic song \u201cLight of a Clear Blue Morning\u201d on Friday, January 16, featuring guest vocals from Reba McEntire, Queen Latifah, Lainey Wilson and her goddaughter Miley Cyrus. \u201cI first wrote this song back in 1976 [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While appearing onstage, Parton was joined by Dollywood Company president Eugene Naughton<\/strong>. At one point, the \u201c9 to 5\u201d singer joked that fans might\u2019ve mistaken the exec for her \u201cnew husband.\u201d<\/p>\n

She later confirmed she\u2019s \u201cnot dating anybody.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI look just like the girls next door\u2026 if you happen to live next door to an amusement park \ud83c\udfa2,\u201d Parton wrote via Instagram<\/span><\/a> on Friday when celebrating Dollywood\u2019s latest milestone. \u201c@dollywood is officially open for the 2026 season!\u201d<\/p>\n

Theme park attendees will be able to enjoy some new attractions in Dollywood\u2019s 41st season.<\/p>\n
