Alexandria\u2019s annual St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade may have come and gone, but there are plenty more festivities coming to Alexandria celebrating the Emerald Isle.<\/p>\n
Across the city, upcoming events include multiple bar crawls, live performances of Irish music and a feline-friendly \u201cSt. Catrick\u2019s Day\u201d at Mount Purrnon Cat Caf\u00e9 + Wine Bar.<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s how some groups and businesses in Alexandria are planning to mark the holiday, which falls on Tuesday next week.<\/p>\n
When:\u00a0<\/strong>Now through Sunday, March 15<\/p>\n The Irish pub has a countdown of festivities<\/a> leading up to St. Patrick\u2019s Day, including Irish dancers at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow (Friday) and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The celebration also includes several live music acts and the Ireland vs. Scotland rugby match at 10 a.m. Saturday.<\/p>\n 713 King Street<\/em><\/p>\n When:\u00a0<\/strong>Daily live music this weekend; traditional Irish music on Monday, March 16<\/p>\n The Irish pub\u2019s weekly series of traditional Irish music<\/a> returns from 7-10 p.m. Monday night. The pub will also show rugby games over the weekend, in addition to hosting musical acts Kenny Kohlhaas, Practically Einstein and Ian Conor from Friday through Sunday, according to the pub\u2019s calendar.<\/a><\/p>\n Mike Rook Richards and Driven to Clarity are set to perform on St. Patrick\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n 112 King Street<\/em><\/p>\n When:\u00a0<\/strong>6-10 p.m. Friday, March 13<\/p>\n Hops N Shine promises<\/a> \u201cgreat vibes, good company, and plenty of green\u201d to celebrate St. Patrick\u2019s Day. Entry is free, and green apparel is encouraged.<\/p>\n 3410 Mount Vernon Avenue<\/em><\/p>\n When:\u00a0<\/strong>9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14<\/p>\n This market<\/a> at Gustave Boulangerie and Bier Garden is returning with \u201ca special St. Patrick\u2019s Day celebration.\u201d The venue will have a Six Nations Rugby watch party as Ireland plays Scotland, along with a halftime raffle for an Irish rugby jersey. At noon, kids can make their own leprechaun hat.<\/p>\n 2213 Mount Vernon Avenue<\/em><\/p>\n When:\u00a0<\/strong>11 a.m. Saturday, March 14 through 6 p.m. March 15<\/p>\n Alexandria\u2019s cat cafe and wine bar is calling it \u201cSt. Catrick\u2019s Day,<\/a>\u201d with plans to serve festive specials throughout the weekend.<\/p>\n \u201cWe will have food and drink specials all weekend, including Irish beer, Irish grilled cheese sandwiches, and green sparkling wine!\u201d the business says online.<\/p>\n Tickets aren\u2019t required, but reservations are encouraged for the cat lounge. Saturday from 6-8 p.m. is exclusively for guests 18 and up.<\/p>\n 109 S. Alfred Street<\/em><\/p>\n When:\u00a0<\/strong>12-6 p.m. Saturday, March 14<\/p>\n The bar crawl through Del Ray<\/a> includes nearly a dozen spots for guests to try specials like \u201cIrish-themed snacks\u201d and stouts while collecting limited-edition pins. \u201cSwag bags\u201d with special merchandise will be reserved for the first 200 registrants. Some brewery locations will host a \u201ckeg kicker\u201d contest with prizes for the lucky guests who order the final pour.<\/p>\n Proceeds from registration will be donated to nonprofit Cook for Vets, which provides meals to local veterans.<\/p>\n Mount Vernon Avenue\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n When:\u00a0<\/strong>1-8 p.m. Saturday, March 14<\/p>\n This crawl through Old Town<\/a> features food and drink specials across venues like Good Fortune and Don Taco. Proceeds from the event will be donated in full to ALIVE!<\/p>\n 540 John Carlyle Street<\/em><\/p>\n When:<\/strong> 7-9 p.m., Saturday, March 14<\/p>\n This concert<\/a> benefitting the Office of Historic Alexandria features The Irish Breakfast Band<\/a>. The group \u201cbrings together 15 or more musicians, blending fiddles, flutes, guitars, drums, pipes, and vocals to create an unforgettable authentic Irish music experience,\u201d according to the City of Alexandria.<\/p>\n Beer and wine will be available alongside free snacks.
