Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) \u2014 who once boasted about doing her own makeup in an Instagram tutorial \u2014 shelled out <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/theonly.agency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">more than $2,000 <\/a>last fall to a celebrity makeup artist whose clients include Bad Bunny and Bella Hadid.<\/p>\n<p>On Nov. 5, her campaign reported paying New York and Los Angeles-based The Only Agency $670 for \u201ccampaign event makeup services,\u201d then another $693.08, and $665 five days later for \u201ccampaign event hair and makeup services,\u201d Federal Election Commission records show.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Ocasio-Cortez shelled out more than $2,000 to a makeup artist whose clients include Bad Bunny and Bella Hadid. <span class=\"credit\">Aristide Economopoulos<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The posh agency\u2019s prices start at $600 a pop for hair and $600 for makeup.<\/p>\n<p>One of the occasions the \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/06\/30\/us-news\/aocs-westchester-childhood-nickname-resurfaces-as-her-bronx-girl-claims-get-shouted-down\/\">Bronx girl<\/a>\u201d got dolled up for was the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/27\/us-news\/even-bernie-sanders-admits-mamdani-wont-have-all-the-answers\/\">get out the vote rally<\/a> for Mayor Mamdani in Queens on Oct. 26 with comrade Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vermont).<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cAn honor to glam AOC for the \u2018New York is Not for Sale\u2019 rally at Forest Hills Stadium \u2014 an unforgettable moment watching her light up the stage with conviction, courage, and heart,\u201d gushed makeup artist Jocelyn Biga <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DQXOkk3iXjW\/?img_index=3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on Instagram<\/a>, along with snaps of AOC\u2019s airbrushed look.<\/p>\n<p>Sporting a smokey brown eye, subtle red lip and perfectly coiffed eyebrows, AOC drew massive applause as she talked about New York City being built by Irish people fleeing famine, Italians escaping fascism, Jews seeking shelter after the Holocaust and blacks escaping Jim Crow laws.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not clear for what other occasion Ocasio-Cortez used the company\u2019s services.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The Oct. 26 rally with Sanders and Mamdani was one of the events Ocasio-Cortez paid big bucks to get glammed up for. <span class=\"credit\">Aristide Economopoulos<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Her other public appearances around that time included the Eugene Debs award banquet for Sanders in Terre Haute, Indiana on Oct. 25, and Mamdani\u2019s election night victory party Nov. 4 at the Paramount Theater in downtown Brooklyn.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAOC\u2019s favorite slogan is \u2018tax the rich,\u2019 but her campaign spending shows she\u2019d rather live like the 1%,\u201d slammed RNC National Press Secretary Kiersten Pels.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s the latest reminder that her class-warfare message is little more than political theater propped up by high-priced makeovers.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>AOC offered some makeup 101 tips to her Instagram followers back in 2019. <span class=\"credit\">AOC\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Most candidates typically report spending closer to $100 to 200 for hair and makeup, a review of campaign finance records show. And a top-rated salon in Forest Hill charges $100 for event hair service, and $150 for professional makeup.<\/p>\n<p>Last quarter was the first time the firebrand politician reported <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/19\/us-news\/aocs-15-4m-campaign-war-chest-is-biggest-in-house\/\">spending cash<\/a> on professional hair or makeup in her campaign filings.<\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s not the first time getting glammed up landed AOC in the headlines.<\/p>\n<p>The House Ethics Committee found she <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/25\/us-news\/aoc-broke-house-rules-to-attend-met-gala-with-beau-riley-roberts-told-to-pay-additional-2700-for-tax-the-rich-gown-other-accessories\/\">violated gift rules<\/a> by accepting similarly pricey hair and makeup services during her <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/03\/02\/aocs-met-gala-appearance-likely-violated-law-house-ethics-chair\/\">infamous Met Gala attendance<\/a> in 2021.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The Met Gala ethics rules violation involved hair and makeup expenses \u2013 on top of the discount on the infamous dress.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Then, she got her makeup done for $344.85 and her hair for $477.73, charges initially billed to Conde Nast, who puts on the gala. <\/p>\n<p>AOC only ended up paying with her own money after the Office of Congressional Conduct filed a complaint.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s outrageous that AOC spends over $600 for makeup and $600 for hair styling by misusing campaign contributions,\u201d said Paul Kamenar, counsel to the National Legal and Policy Center, whose complaint prompted the House Ethics report. <\/p>\n<p>As a freshman lawmaker in 2019, AOC took to Instagram to offer <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2019\/12\/21\/aoc-shares-makeup-advice-on-instagram-before-bernie-sanders-rally\/\">makeup tips to her fans<\/a> as she called out the patriarchy, before embarking on a stage with Sanders at a Los Angeles rally.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Last fall was the first time AOC reported campaign expenses for professional hair and makeup services. <span class=\"credit\">Matthew McDermott for NY Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWomen are expected to put 30 minutes to an hour into their appearance every day to look just as presentable as a man who puts in 10 minutes,\u201d she raged in an Instagram video to her millions of followers.<\/p>\n<p>And the next year, she filmed a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/08\/23\/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-reveals-her-makeup-routine-in-vogue-video\/\">step-by-step tutorial<\/a>\u00a0of her makeup routine for Vogue \u2014 while lamenting it\u2019s \u201cso hard\u201d as a young woman to be treated seriously on Capitol Hill.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s this really false idea that if you care about makeup or if your interests are in beauty and fashion, that that\u2019s somehow frivolous,\u201d she said, before showing off her gold glittery eyeshadow palette.<\/p>\n<p>The Vogue video, \u201cCongresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez\u2019s Guide to her Signature Red Lip,\u201d was part of a series called \u201cBeauty Secrets,\u201d that featured tutorials from beauty gurus like Kylie Jenner.<\/p>\n<p>The Only Agency and Ocasio Cortez\u2019s campaign did not return The Post\u2019s request for comment on the latest expenses.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><em> \u2018 The preceding article may include information circulated by third parties \u2019 <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> \u2018 Some details of this article were extracted from the following source celebrity.land \u2019 <\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>She\u2019s blushing now.
