Prince Harry and Meghan Markle \u2014 the estranged couple from the royal family \u2014 were the subjects of a new book by royal author Tom Bower, according to the extracts published by The Times.<\/p>\n

The upcoming book, \u201cBetrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family,” claims Queen Camilla, 78, privately told a friend that Meghan had \u201cbrainwashed” Harry.<\/p>\n

\u201cMeghan had become a divisive agent. To please her, Harry was ignoring his old friends. He even changed his telephone number without telling his family”, Bower wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cIncreasingly, his character mirrored Meghan\u2019s. Emotionally, he veered towards extremes. Simple dislikes became passionate hatred. \u2018Meghan\u2019s brainwashed Harry\u2019, Camilla told a friend.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Prince Harry\u2019s spokesperson hit back at the claims, describing it as a \u201cderanged conspiracy”.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr Bower\u2019s commentary has long crossed the line from criticism into fixation. This is someone who has publicly stated, \u2018the monarchy in fact depends on actually obliterating the Sussexes from our state of life,\u2019 language that speaks for itself.”<\/p>\n

What Are The Claims?<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the book,\u00a0Bower recalls a meeting after the couple returned from their honeymoon in 2018, when the Sussexes met Prince William and Princess Kate at Kensington Palace.<\/p>\n

He claimed the couple\u2019s relationship had bothered Prince William, and that his suspicion of Meghan was echoed by his wife, Princess Kate.<\/p>\n

\u201cWilliam\u2019s dislike of Meghan had been obvious after his warning to Harry before their engagement. \u2018It\u2019s gone too quickly,\u2019 William had said about the speed of Harry\u2019s relationship with \u2018the American actress\u2019. William\u2019s suspicion of Meghan was echoed by his wife.”, Bower writes.<\/p>\n

On Andrew\u2019s Arrest<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to a snippet from the excerpt, the book shed light on how Prince Harry was stunned by Prince William\u2019s reaction to their uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor\u2019s arrest, who was held on the suspicion of misconduct in public office.<\/p>\n

The arrest pertained to allegations of leaking confidential documents with dead sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during his time as a trade envoy.<\/p>\n

It said William backed his father King Charles and his decisions to kick out Andrew of Royal Lodge and strip his titles. It also said the Prince of Wales issued a statement after Andrew\u2019s arrest, saying he and Princess Kate stood by the actions of the King.<\/p>\n

\u201cRightly, Harry fears that the future King William could remove all the Sussexes\u2019 titles and effectively banish him from Britain”, Bower wrote.<\/p>\n
